thanks paul, really appreciate the advice. my main reason for training is for strongman and what u say makes sense, and ur overhead is very impressive.
uv now got my brain doin overtime on how to change it lol, iv only got 3 weeks left of this mesocycle so wil leave it as it is for now n then think il change it to close grip as a main exercise. how many reps/sets did u do for close grip?
» Well At Least I Tried (Go to post)12-10-2011 @ 15:28
all these sets / reps are making me look lazy, when i read this i always feel i need to do more. also id do reps with 70 instead of doubles at 80, but thats jus me. depends what ur goals are i suppose?
my goals for bench press was 10reps @ Bodyweight and 100k 1RM, now its 120k+ short term n 140k long term

haha i do got big arms n chicken legs, iv only been squatting since june/ july properly so i do more rep work than 1RM's atm to try build some mass on them. just felt that needed explaining.

ok i cudda worded my statement better but im s**t with that stuff lol. i never said animal welfare isnt important but its definately not the most important issue to worry about IMO.
also the statement about drinking beer n taking crack is somewhat wrong, i was sayin peoples actions indicate that they wont encourage meat eating, slaughterhouses etc but encourage child slavery (usually without realising). which would be the same as somebody taking crack n saying beer is bad for you, NOT somebody drinking beer n saying crack is bad. unless of course u think animal welfare is more important than child slavery then it was right.

i used to train twice a day most days n found it ok. looking at ur workout id add it on a wednesday, bcos then uv got ur upper n lower workouts out of the way n friday is primarily overhead work so stones isnt going to impact fridays session as much as it would the others IMO. however bcos u have a rest day after each training day it shouldnt make much differance when u fit them in, so whatever days best. hope this helps
edit. the other option would be to do them on the least strenuous workout day.
