ur stronger than me. end of the day i know im not guna be englands strongest man so im not competing to win, jus to have fun.

think if they do yorkshires again i have a go at that, dont think they'll be 6 weight classes again but they shud b a novice n a u90s so il do which ever is lighter most likely, might have a word with the junction lads n see if theyd maybe do weight choices in the u90s, like at dragons with a heavy n light option.

u was 1 of the ppl i was looking forward to battling with, but if u do compete consider doing same as me n u wont be the weakest 1 there then. also next years a while off yet, we cud progress loads by then.

my current program is abit diff to most, as follows:

week 1. 2.5kg - 5kg lighter than average 5 rep for sets weight
week 2. about equal to 5 reps for sets weight
week 3. 2.5kg - 5kg heavier than 5 rep for sets weight
week 4. increase weight again, n if need be drop reps
week 5. heavy singles / usually PB attempt
week 6. 3 x sets of 10 + 1 set of 20-30 reps
REPEAT

slight change on assistance exercises n reps/sets every 6 weeks
for example this 1 is 4 rep x 4 sets x 4 weeks
next is 3 sets of 5 n 1 set of max reps @ 70% of 1rm

so far its still working for me n the gains r going good, but i realise long term its not going to work to well. this is my first attempt at training for strongman instead of a more BB style program though so theres probably alot wrong with it.

once the gains slow/stop or maybe after the next 6 week block i will switch to something thats been tried n tested, like what u suggested. meanwhile i think its silly to switch atm while progress is good. any thoughts/suggestions/criticism is very welcome and appreciated

as iv said im new to strongman training so know f**k all tbh, im just experimenting n finding out what weights are comfy on lower reps. for example when i started this journal i didnt know what weight i cud strict press for 5 reps so jumping into a 5 x5 or 5/3/1 i wouldnt of even knew where to start.

strong stuff as always.

i couldnt help notice ur knees give u alot of pain, and so do mine. do u take any supps for them, n if so which 1s? im willin to give anything a go.

i have just started using a cissus quadrangularis (50% ketosterone) supp, it has reduced the pain a bit and also made it less frequent but not completely solved it.

thought id ask for 2 reasons, 1 being this may help u n the 2nd that if u take/do anything else that helps it could be useful

in the gym guys defence ur deadlift is extremely strong and could imagine alot of people findin it hard to believe. did u tell him ur overhead is stronger than ur bench aswell?
good to see uv found a way of training around injuries too. keep it up, recover, n give us something better to read when ur healed Happy

why u changed ur squat to 200 equipped in the league chart?
» PROTEIN (Go to post)13-10-2011 @ 09:57
i usualy have 3 shakes a day, 1 mornin, 1 after workout, 1 b4 bed. its quick n easy to consume with a little appetite. the cost is about 7.50 a week, thats almost a 1 a day for 3 shakes containing 25g protein a serving. it probably costs me more for the milk to mix it with.

nothing wrong with a 80k strict (same as me) i also do alot of strict DB pressing too but my general overhead is very poor, currently 86k so i know theres a big flaw in my tech somewhere.
seen as u have the best technique i know of n gates is a top coach im hoping between u both that u can help me hit that 100k OH.
