As much as I love him as a lifter, I think he has his work cut out.

Unless he comes out with something very special (or if there were others injured) he probably wouldn't get picked anyway. He is seen as being difficult to work with by some in Russian weightlifting. Internal politics would keep him out!

Only -1 in Moscow. Very mild indeed for this time of year.

Your going to come all the way from Russia to potentially not do a whole comp??
I don't like cuts offs personally but I accept sometimes they are inevitable

Would prefer there not to be a cut-off. I don't think you can judge a person's overall strength just from two-three events, hence why contests are made up of lots of events. But limiting the amount of contestants just doesn't seem fair. Basically, if you know the promoter your in, if not your out. That is if the numbers go over the allotted limit.

But i suppose you can't completely blame the promoter if there aren't any others willing to put on qualifiers. At least they are putting a comp on.

Would only come anyway if it coincided with my visit back home.

Why you cant just allow as many guys as possible to compete, and cut the field to 12 after 2 events (log & dead great eliminators IMO) is beyond me? Will take an extra hour tops!

If that was the case, I reckon after 3 events would be better. Maybe deads, log, farmers or deads, log, tyre flip.

And no, these aren't my favorite events... crap at the overhead!

was thinking that, but there probably still aren't the numbers to justify it, maybe at u90, but I think I'm the only open so far

Could you make the weight drop?Grin
Would be nice to have a Scottish qualifier though. Think you would get more participants if it was called Scotland's Strongest Natural Man rather than just the Scottish qualifier.

If anybody else wants to run a regional qualifier PM me!! It has been put out there before and no takers

Shame there can't be a Scottish qualifiers, as there seem to be quite a lot of Scottish lads going in for the Northern qualifiers (at least in the 90s).

An investment for life: no more nagging, buying useless jewellery, pms, but sex on tap (if you like robot sex, like the wierd Scottish bloke and the juvenile delinquent above seem toTongue).

Can anyone else verify this or is it just in me head????

Just started doing exactly the same before my Muay Thai sessions. I have definitely noticed an increase in energy.
