My absolute pet peeve phrase in the world of lifting, seen daily on social media:

"working on depth"

With the exception of outright beginners with appalling flexibility I don't understand it.

You just know that this guy was born with thick legs and torso.

well yeah im sure that helps lol but i was more on about stumpy femurs of peace

Dont see many people do a "beautiful" upright squat like that, with a significantly bigger deadlift than they squat. Part of a theory of mine..

He has dem "squatter" proportions, as soon as I saw his squat I knew his dead would be small compared.

PS this doesn't mean he isn't strong, doesn't train hard, I'm not in awe, or that magic did the lift for him, before anyone throws a paddy

Is now the correct way, and always has been..

- Use of "IPF" when would more likely say GBPF, plus use of lbs instead of kg, and also use of "kinda" (much more common in american english) - Probably american.

- use of loal - long time lurker. No posts but familiar with sugden vernacular.

- citing Tom Martin out the blue - he has a particular fanbase with skinny ectomorphs on BB.com misc since his 350@83 WR because he was very lightweight and only young but shifting huge weight. This demographic is overrepresented on misc since a lot of them don't even lift and many see Tom as their hero. He is also the only UK powerlifter most young americans know, apart from maybe one other.

I conclude; skinny, white, american, BB.com misc user, long time sugden stalker, fairly weak, and definitely weaker than Macca (a stronger troll is usually proud of the fact they are stronger and displays it publically).

Sugden detective, taking bookings now

If you're going to seriously handle this then you need to familiarise yourself with:

- The basics of how nerves work and how impulses are conducted (hint ion channels are the basis of this). Google and understand what an action potential is.

- Then familiarise yourself with the basic physiology of the heart, and in particular the action potential in a heart and the electrical activity of the heart.

- Then familiarise yourself with the basics of the pharmacology of the electrical activity of the heart - ie how drugs manipulate all those different ion channels you just read about and what effect this has on the electrical activity of the heart which you just learnt in my second bulletpoint. You will find this information in a good pharmacology textbook under "Anti-arrhymic drugs".

- Once you've done a bit of this broadly, you'll be able to then start applying some modifications to the ion channels using the software and writing about what then happens.

- There are many widely used physiology textbooks your library will have
- A widely used pharmacology textbook is Rang & Dale's pharmacology 7th edition
- Wikipedia is your friend

In the spirit of learning I'm sure you're proactive enough to pick it all up yourself. To be honest I'm very surprised as a biology student something so heavily biomedical is being asked of you, and equally of shocked that sugden is your only port of call. lol

If someone was going to shoot me dead I would eat glass if someone convincingly told me it would save me. Doesn't mean it would work

Just playing devil's advocate lol for the record I agree with you, more is better Happy
