» powerlifting vs strongman (Go to post)16-09-2011 @ 14:09
ok so we all know that both are an excellent demonstration of strength,

but which one is cooler?

to put it another way, which one yields the most respect from the general population?
strongman, powerlifting or weightlifting? (id be supprised if it was weightlifting because most people done even know what it is)

haha you might have to turn into a bench only person

friday

strict OH press:
bar x 10
40kg x 6
50kg x 4 last rep only just went up
60kg x F Unhappy would have been an equil PB, so i must have got weaker shoulders

close grip incline:
40kg x 10 for 5 sets, my god these were hard!

i was supprised at how weak my shoulders actually are!

chinups:
13 PB
5

DB tricep extensions:
3 sets of 15 at 7.5kg

clearly this stuff needs a hell of a lot of work! give it 6 months thoug and it will be boss

No problem, hope it helps.
Also, for 'OH work' i'd mainly focus on strict pressing if you aim to bring your bench up. When ever my strict goes up so does my bench (and I don't train bench).

good Happy yeah i realy need my bench to go up. allthough theres nothing cooler than being able to put loads of weight above your head, im not too botherd about my overhead press but if it increases my bench then that will be a success because my bench is very poor and i would love to get it much much better

Just a few questions I'm throwing out there...
1, Is it a good idea to train lats the day before deadlifting?
2, I'm considering adding another training day, am I better off making it an OH day or a DE bench day?

At the moment I'm doing
Monday bench
Wednesday squats
Saturday deadlifts

And I now have fridays free, so... What to do?

Thanks
