Was wondering what people thought about their carryover to belted squats. If I train beltess for a few weeks and increase my beltless max by 10-20kg, will it have an immediate carryover to my belted max? Or are there too many variables to say? | |||

Was just looking at your comp videos- great lifting! Your squat stance is really wide- have you always squatted like that or did you move it out gradually? I find it impossible to hit depth with a wide stance- do you have any tips for flexibility? | |||

Cheers for the replies and the suggestions. Andy- unusually the problem has only come about since I've lowered the volume! When I was squatting at 80% 3-4 times a week on the sheiko programme my hips were fine! Since i've started doing low volume heavy doubles and singles it's gotten worse. Maybe its my form is off when I'm going heavy and that's the root of it. Either way, my right hip is worse and its making me squat asymmetrically! I've been using the foam roller for a while now anyway- seems to help my lower back but less so the hips! MattD- it sounds like a similar problem to yours- really weak out of the hole and a numb 'squashed' kind of pain without being too acute. I'll try the stretch you recommended. It's really f**king annoying- makes you perform way below your potential! Likewise on deadlift I'm fine- only happens below 90 degree angle! Before the session today I did a warm up bike ride on a higher resistance than usual, which seemed to help loosen them up. However I also took a few paracetamol before the sesh which probably helped. Anyway, the British unequipped is in a couple of weeks so I'll try and firefight it till then and try your suggestions!! | |||

Last few weeks been getting problems with my hip flexors at the bottom of my squats. They hurt and feel really weak- like they're being squashed almost and makes my knees want to come in to get away from it. My working sets have gotten ~10kg weaker and got a comp in 2-3 weeks! Anyone had this and sorted it out? | |||
