From my training log:

Took a couple of attempts to get to 90kg but got there with a little help from Pagan's sauna suit My first strongman comp so my aims were to not come last and not make a dick of myself. Just about managed both.

Deadlift
190/ 210/ 220 equal pb

Yoke
200kg. About 23 seconds. Think i was second quickest of the light group. Reckon I could have got 10m with the 270.

Loading medley
4 items in about 48 seconds. Couldn't get the atlas stone off the floor. Had to zercher the duckwalk, which i think cost a bit of time.

Overhead medley
5 reps. Was just out of time with rep 6. None of them felt heavy but I went walkabout the the log and the dumbbell. Was pretty wrecked by the end.

Farmers
90kg/ hand. About 22 seconds. Just like the yoke, could have done the heavy one. A lesson for next time.

Stones
A big fat zero reps. Think I lapped the 110 about 5 times but just couldn't load the damn thing. If anything I had too much tacky and the stone got stuck to my T shirt but no excuses. Nil for Pete

Think I came 23rd out of 29 and had alot of fun. i'll def compete again.

4th September

olympic dragons

I've just worked power clean, push jerk and conditioning over the last week or so. No interwebz to record on, just got it fixed today. Just watching my weight now til the big day sunday.

20th August

Events day at olympic.

Log
Up to 85kg. Missed 90 a couple times. the clean is easy but i'm struggling with the overhead

Axle
Up to 100kg. Power cleans with a mixed grip like I saw Mark Clegg do in a comp once. Split jerk overhead.

Farmers/ yoke
Did these two back to back. Up to 220kg on the yoke and 100/ hand on farmers. Like the farmers, really don't like the yoke. Although apparently I'm a natural yoker Grin

Stones
Up to 120kg. Very messy but lots of fun.

No training for about a week now, going surfing. Won't get any stronger between now and the comp so I'll just work conditioning while i'm away.

13th August

Strongman day

Powerclean & push jerk
Up to a couple singles at 100kg

Log
Few reps at 70 & 80, then a few misses at 90.
Brought it down for a couple more 70s. Struggled with the overhead. Tried a push jerk and nearly dropped it on myself. needs more work.

Yoke
Warm up and then a couple goes at 200kg. pretty tough.

Farmer's walk
2 rounds with 90kg/ hand.
