Pressing looks a bit weak mate Happy

120 for 15 is very impressive

What's the wrist problem?

If your used to deadlifting without straps I would stick with that because trying to lift strapless after training with straps is a lot harder

And a strong grip never hurt anyone

The only log a newbie should be performing though is.....MAX log Grin

This is true...

However....

Max log is ok in the right situation...

Not when in the gym listening to Bonnie Tyler...

Hence fails haha

Its max log at Salt Ayre so no maxing out till then mate where I can hopefully battle with Mr Robson

Wiegieboard said:You're good at the log business! It's an exercise I wish I could do better. I tried a 70kg log a few times last year but the thing wasn't going over my head at all. Great work there with it.

I think some people are made for pressing... I like to call these people c**ts Happy

Its just a confidence thing really if I get my head into it I can perform ok (my pressing is still gash) but if my heads not in it I can't do s**t. The first set at 107 proved that.

Have you tried split jerking it? Since I found out travis ortmyer does this I feel less hom

Its hard to get motivated when your placing low but you should use that as motivation when training.

Robbo speaks very highly of your involvement mate so would be a shame if you weren't involved in strongman.

Trained on my own at the steel, bad idea really couldnt be arsed and no one to shoot the breeze with was painful!

18 inch deads
60x10
100x5
140x3
180x2
220x1 went up well for me
240x fail!!
220x1 went up well again, starting to get scared of the deadlift at finals now, thought 18's would be good for me but turns out not
Just have to keep going for next year now!

Log
70x5
90x2 dreadful reps
95x1 was meant to be a warm up, nearly came down on my head then almost fell lol so I sacked this session off, and to top it off ive hurt my bicep, so not the best session ive ever had but still pulled 220 which I cant grumble too much about.

Right this session off and look forward to the next : )

Good session mate and not every session can be brilliant especially when it comes to the demon log!

Try some reps around 200 or maybe do some singles at 210 but for 7 sets or something mate see what happens

Put some reps in at around 190-210 and 220 will fly mate
