» Dave Meer 60kg Tri Extensions for 15 reps (Go to post) | 27-02-2012 @ 21:18
Dave working his tri's or as we preffer to call them his "Arm Quads" He also just missed a 200kg Push Press in the same workout. It looked locked out but Dave said he'd not locked his arms. So you'll have to wait another few weeks for him to have another go.

Wigan said: Wasn't there some very dubious reps allowed on the dumbbell for Phil Pfister that split the points enough to put Poundstone ahead of Misha in the final standings. Very dodgy, you wouldn't get that sort of thing at the Olympics!! I believe it was Travis, and I can't comment on the quality of the lockouts, haven't watched it for a while. What I can say is that Misha is a f**king legend! Had the privilege to meet him at the Arnolds last year. We were out drinking with him on the final day of the EXPO. Went to bed feeling pretty rough. Then met him again in the hotel lobby the next morning. He was STILL drinking vodka with the Russian Amateur strongmen!!! I believe that the year he was second at the Arnold he clean and jerked 230ish after a similar drinking session.

Not sure how high the yoke will be set as I've not measured it, will be arround 44" Due to comments on the weight of the Farmers and Yoke, we may lower the weights a bit. 70kg Famers and 160kg for the yoke, please let me know if these revised weights are prefferable.

Post Edited: 09.01.2012 @ 08:24 AM by PaulAmor The Power Plant Gym Nr Tamworth will be running it's inaugral womans contest on the 24th March. Arrive 10am for a 11am start.Events 40kg axle clean and press for reps head to head 180kg Yoke 15m Silver dollar deadlift – last women standing – start weight tbc Arm over arm sled drag for approx. 12m – approx. 250kg sledge but tbc 80kg Farmers 30m, (15m put down then 15m back) Stone over yoke 60sec. (Arnold classic style, weights approx 90kg/70kg/50kg) This means that you can try the 90kg, if you fail to get one rep, you can go again with the 70kg stone, and if you fail to get a lift you can try the 50kg stone. One rep with the 90kg stone beats any number of reps with the 70 or 50 kg stone, and similarly one rep with the 70 beats any number of reps with the 50kg stone The weights are heavy, and the distances are short. This is to allow us to hold the events inside the gym should the weather be bad. We hope to hold the events outside though. The contest will be limited to 20, on a first come first served basis. Due to the popularity of these contests please only but your name down if your fully comitted to competing. We don't want to turn away competitors only to have loads on no shows on the day. Enterance fee is £10, payable on the day. To cover the cost of the T-Shirts. If your interested please email me at paul.amor@live.com, message me on this board or via facebook

Ben_F said:The one where they messed heavily with the scoring system - which one was that? 2004, but they only messed up the heats with the stupid scoring system. Final was the normal affair. Worst has to b 1989 with the stupid hod carry for 200m at the end. And the gravel loading event. 2003 was pretty bad with pudz winning literally every event.
