The title will be decided over 3 key points IMO
1 Shaw's log
2 Jenkin's deadlift
3 big Zs rock lift

Which ever one keep damage limitation to a minimum in said event will win the title

And poundstone and misha not making final favors shaw as both would have beat him in log press

Not a bad prediction

Shaw's log - 4.5pts
Jenkins deadlift 2pts
Big Zs rock lift 9pts

Z has won every ifsa comp he's done, all the log comps he's done and every scl he's done since 2008 (19)!!!

That's wrong

He was beaten at the ifsa world championships in Korea 2007 by both misha and vassille

So groups not that close this year going into the stones there is only 2 places undecided - Martin/jojo - Caron/pounstone

Looks like the final is gonna have 10 on form athletes should be a cracker
My money is on jenkins but would love to see big Z take it

I really want expecting Martin to be this good!
I suppose Misha will have a good chance at beating him at keg toss, but I really don't know what Martin is like at that. Neither of them are awesome at stones are they?

if you look back to sun city in 2010 with the keg toss misha was middle of the pack as was poundstone, big Z though was second only to shaw by 100ths of a second
and as far as stones go i think there is only say 2 guys at WSM that are better at the stones one is recovering from bicep injury and the other is part of the crew, so for me big Z is prob gonna take 2 wins out of 2 in his group and it will be between poundcake and caron

in the other group i would imagin martin will be good at kegs he has powerful deadlift and very long arms i am sure he can generate some very good explosive power
i think Jojo is the best stone lifter of the 3 so it could be tight

I think most of the groups are going the way the form book would suggest and I don't see any of the current top 2 athletes letting go of their places. only one I must say that's looking exciting is martin/jojo/misha
Martin has 2.5pts ahead of misha and tbh I don't think Misha can claw back 3 pts over two events that I can see Martin holding his own in

Jenkins has best shoulders in the world he prove that at the arnolds on both log and dumbell plus I am hearing 220kg log in training, not taking anything away from ed but in would wager that jenkins is trying to get to final using as little energy as possible

Wow 2 bicep injuries already!
Brought the conversation up on my FB about a month ago about the level of injuries in the sport and Gregor (event manager) ripped me a new ar****le telling me to man up, 30 guys, one event down looks like 2 out injured already.
congrats to hixxy, good luck rest of guys
I know not right thread but not on much these days so my prediction -- can't see past jenkins

What a great comp, lee and everyone involved did an excellent job, really big crowd and very supportive, loads of memorable strength entertainment from a very good bunch of strongmen, best of luck to lee and cherrie in final.

Well done Nick saw you struggle to double 280 last year with god awful form, so great improvement

Training in equipment will build your raw power it's an example of the overload principle, if you are squatting in a suit you still need to stabilize and handle that weight. If your equipped strength is going up so must your raw, they will both go up collectively particularly if you alternate between raw and equipped on a regular basis.
If your raw squat is 100k and equipped squat is 140 and you train primarily in equipment and your equipped squat goes to 200kg your raw squat is not gonna still be 100kg
So reguarding the suggestion that training equipped will do nothing for raw strength I have to disagree

Prob took a few token fights so his record did not end with 3 losses
But in his prime I have never saw anyone with a stand up game like that, his striking was so accurate and powerful
Tim Sylvia said he had never been hit that hard in his life when he knocked him out in about 14 secs !!
