The slow cooker is your friend. Load it up with meat, veg and potatoes. You'll have meals for days.

Yes, i do like the slow cooker. Just getting a kitchen fitted at the moment and havent had a cooker for over a year now. Iv been totally reliant on a slow cooker and the George Foreman.

I have actually increased my zercher reppage to doubles recently!

Im getting the bike sorted myself, dont mind some cycling and softer on the joints then running. Snacking in the evening is what got me to 23 stone before, i try and have diner and then nothing after that.

Keep up the zerchering!

Thanks Wayne. What are you planning to combat the belly? just dieting or doing some cardio (multiple zercher reps)?

stephen9069 said:Good luck to you mate, im in the same boat but im lacking the volume of cardio and dont want to swim lol but i am trying to cut my weight down.

Cheers. Iv found that i need to make it small goals to aim for on the cardio. i.e. run for a minuite the walk for a minuite. Easily acheivable and is alot more likely to happen then if i went out and said i was going to run for half an hour.

Sunday 21st May

Gym

Seated dumbell shoulder press
Machine shoulder flies
Shoulder barbell raises
Seated tricep pushdowns
Cable tricep pushdowns
Leg extensions
Hack squat
Leg raises

Again i did 3 working sets of 10, 15 and then 20 with about a minuite rest in between.

EDCLARKE said:great goals mate , what weight are you aiming for , I suspect you would be in amazing shape at 17 stone .

Not really thought about weight really, but yeah around 17 stone would probably be a healthy weight for me. Suppose il just eat sensibly and train hard and see where I end up.

Saturday 20th May

10am
Lat pulldowns
Machine rows
Machine pullovers
Barbel curls
Dumbell hammer curls
Lying hamstring curls
Standing hamstring curls
Abs

Did 3 working sets on each. 1st set 10 reps, 1 min rest, 2nd set 15 reps, 1 min rest, 3rd set 20 reps.

1pm
Swimming x 1000m
3 x 150m
1 x 250m
2 x 150m

Happy with that today, will be back in the gym tomorrow and swimming again Monday.

Friday 19th May

Running
Did 20mins of 1 min jog followed by 1 min walk.

The sides of my calves and glutes were very tight from about half way through this but stretch out after.

Thanks. It took a while to realise that life isnt all about lifting heavy weights. Im proud to have made it to a decent level, especially having been natural, and having competed against 4 or 5 guys that have been to worlds. Im gutted not to have hit some of my lifting goals but the goalposts have moved now and its on to new challenges.

Hope your training goes well to.

Had a good couple of years competing in strongman with my last competition being Englands Strongest Man 2013. Since then iv had injuries but continued lifting heavy in the gym when possible.

Recently iv seen the light! I cant justify being 22 stone because im a strongman anymore. I cant carry on being out of breath all the time, being unhealthy, never fitting anything and all just to cling onto the strongman tag.

So, to the future. I want to be an athlete! Id like to be reasonably strong but be able to run, cycle, swim, play football etc for decent durations and also get to a sustainable and healthy weight.

Iv been swimming twice a week for the past couple of months and now weigh 21 stone.

My current goal is to swim a mile (1600m) non stop. My best so far has been 10x100m so still a long way to go.

Hello mate , all good , haven't trained in ages , how about you still training? I noticed you had sold your strongman kit.

Im doing good mate. Had to sell my strongman kit as bought a house and needed space/money to get work done on it - proper doer-upper place so been taking up alot of my time.

Still training with weights but im getting more into swimming and cycling so i think its time to change from a fat strongman to an athlete (might do a new training journal for it).

Got any goals? Other then be stronger then your son?

Hopefully Loz has a good run up to WSM and stay injury free. Definitely think he can make the top 5 and maybe higher depending on the events.
