When it's ~70kg less than your PB I'd hope most logs are "quite nice" Tongue

Set those tyres wider so that you dont need to step back after picking the log up.
Pick log up and stand up, then sit with it, dont lean over it

train for strength and also build some more muscle.
2 sessions a week, 1 heavy push pressing the other higher rep strict press to build muscle.

How quick were other lifts given for people? To see if he was given preferential treatment we need to compare it to other good lifts.
» has anyone ever tried not squatting? (Go to post)06-05-2014 @ 12:07
Yes. I've got to 280kg deads without much squatting. Went through a long period of knee issues that caused problems with squats and push pressing.
Generally sorted now though, so back to squatting.
Used to have a crap squat, it's still crap but managing 230kg box squats with a pause for reps. Gonna continue to do them (both heavy and lighter for reps as feel they will definitely help).
» what are you stronger on, Log press or Axle press (Go to post)05-05-2014 @ 21:12
Log is better by 7.5kg

going down looked a struggle, popping up was simple.
Clearly stupidly strong but the suit just ruins it for me

athletes in a weight category are more likely to be more lean mass than an open that is quite a bit over 105kg.

some events the additional mass helps, others it doesn't. That's where this fails as a 130kg man with the same lean mass as an u105 might be as strong as each other but by your thoughts the heavier man should be squatting 50kg more for reps just to be equal. Forgetting that they are already carrying an additional 25kg of mass already.

End of the day though, does it matter? All that matters is you are better than those you are competing against Happy

For balance reasons you should work your chest. You'll get bad posture if you only work your back.

A man stands with over 450 in his hands and his grip fails and someone says that is "having an issue with grip"?!
madness
