That's the kind of thing I prescribe for a beginner. Like you said, a good simple routine. Stick to big compound exercises and you can never go far wrong!

If he's still doing those deadlifts where you start from the top, he must be training them with close to 500kg...

He's also been a powerlifter for years

Yeah Stan's more a powerlifter than a bodybuilder really, despite having an IFBB pro card. He's also a master lifter. Big fan of this guy.

And you obviously wouldn't need to run to the end of the raee for the judge to deem that you have finished.

» Lower body training with an injured back (Go to post)10-04-2011 @ 12:00
Loads of good feedback! gonna take a week off, then do pressing only for a week, then start doing front squats and see where I go from there. Think it'll heal up fairly quick - it doesn't feel as bad as I thought it was.

Anyone got any suggestions for good lower body exercises that don't use the back? I've just strained my back (lumbar region) hence the need for them. Don't really know how to train without squating!

Bit of a strong reaction! I ordered some stuff on wednesday, arrived thursday. Free delivery too - can't complain.

Incidentally, anyone had any experience of their creapure? I just got some.
» Do you train arms??? (Go to post)06-04-2011 @ 16:52
I do high reps extensions and curls, mainly to keep my elbows happy. Other than that it's all compound stuff
