I saw yesterday that the wahoo elemnt and kickr now integrate wth bestbikesplit or whatever to called. Having the machine factor in wind etc to simulate a course is pretty cool. Although I reckon it'd lead a few people to push themselves too hard too often.

Don't forget that position and weight is going to make a huge difference. I'm not going under 6 hours at 200w. Not even close. I'm like a granite air break on the bike compared to some.

I'd still argue that for most the best way to improve your average watts over 6 hours is to increase your ftp.

I might have to do one of these races just so I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I'd definitely do the iron goat if there were more of them. Looks right up my alley.

I can imagine the running would be tough, but the cycling really not.

It's a very gentle hill. It's only famous because of the switchbacks.

Some of us have done the real thing Wink

6:55. But I think I'd be close to 6 if I went at it full gas. It was always a climb that we raced up playing games rather than for fast times.

I used to get out to the Surrey Hills a lot but don't really have the time now. Shame as there are some great little ascents.

I like zwift, I really do, but the fact that you can only ride in one of the three 'worlds' on a given day is really s**t. especially when they don't actually tell you that when you join. The fact that they've provided a work around that was told to them by a user is bizarre. The fact they will tell you the work around but haven't edited the programme so you don't have to do it? Well I'm lost for words. It's laughable.

I think the idea is amazing, but the software awful. It's like it's been put together by someone for a GCSE project.

If they improved it, they'd get my money. But if it they don't I'll be sticking with trainerroad for the time being.

Went to a mates for dinner last night. This guy can cook!

Had pork belly, potato dauphinois, buttered leeks, honey roasted carrots. Raspberry soufflé with a chocolate sauce for dessert and then a great cheeseboard.

Many bottles of Malbec, vodka martinis, espresso martinis and a rhubarb gin liqueur.

Great night.

Steve said:Zwift - the Pretzel course. Definitely recommend you try this one when you have a spare couple of hours. Something to beat - it took me 2hours 23minutes tonight averaging 227watts

I've been intrigued by this since you posted it. Think I'll have to find time to give it a go. Problem
Is works so busy at the moment I'm barely finding time to train, let alone 2.5 hours!

That's a good average power mind you. I'm keen to see what I could hold for that long. Also seems like a decent base phase ride to get some miles in the legs.

Had one of, if not the best restaurant experiences of my life last night and given where I've been lucky enough to eat in the past, that's saying something!

Roux at the Landau. Best table in the house. Ordered 2 dishes, had 8 (including some not on the menu). Didn't order a drink but had 5 different wines.

Turns out the pastry chef is a good family friend of the Mrs.

It was very, very special.

How do you get to the steeper side?

I wish there was a climb that took an hour or more. That might be enough to get me to sign up over the winter. As it is I've got 2 months free.

23m43 - zwift time.

That was pretty tough.

I sincerely hope it's the latter.

If you boys are 20% faster than me up that then WOWZERS.

If I'm getting this right (and I think I am) my time was 24m21.

I reckon I could take 1-2 minutes off that if I was warmed up and had a big ring. I was essentially coasting in parts because I had run out of gears.

I can now see a bit more of an attraction to zwift.

I cant do that on my free trial.

Can I not just do this hill?

Tough climb you say?

Do tell me more....

how do I find this climb and how tough is it? If its a little ring climb then it might be a way for me to try zwift again before my trial ends.
