Bobbypalmer59 said:Unfortunately not the case. With all the cuts in man power, funding and deployments few and far between lads are just getting threaders with camp life and the rotation of ops, regen and training cycle. I'm from a busy regiment that does pretty exciting stuff and I have to say, there is a good 20 lads/ ~10% of a small regiment that have signed off with many more to follow soon. Unfortunately it's just how it is, as the ops cycles are essentially just training exercises now its a case of same s**t different day. Sorry to be so grim. Pretty much how it was when i left, most guys only stayed in for 4-6 years. Day to day life really was eating away at people. Might have to look at the reserves then! haha

Bobbypalmer59 said:Honestly? I wouldn't even bother, its dire serving at the moment and I'd say 95% of people I've met from all 3 arms said its breaking them. Most only don't sign off because they are scared of not finding work or they are too comfortable. That's the main reason i got out. I was kinda hoping a different regiment would be different but i guess i'm being naive.

Post Edited: 03.02.2015 @ 15:02 PM by Darrenmac1988 A question to anyone currently serving or ex-service.After 3 and a half years out of the Army i've decided to re-enlist. I really miss the banter and the lifestyle. In the time i've been out i've gone from 95kg to 118kg with the following lifetime maxes: Bench 175kg Squat 267.5kg Deadlift 317.5kg Press 140kg My question is how do you balance your strength training and still keep up the cardio. It's no good being able to deadlift 700lbs is i can't pass a PFT!

Thanks mate! most i've done without a belt and wraps so i'm happy. Yeah i just need to play around with it more, getting it to the shoulder is fine just need to practice sitting it right before i attempt to press it haha
