Thanks! Not technically a lifetime PB but I am happy with it. Squats felt great today. 5 plates with just a belt should go in the next few weeks Happy

Gotta love squats! You doing Bristols Strongest Man? If so that's 2 comps we're both doing this year.

Yeah it is hard to guess what the weight in the hands will be. Looks like a really good comp and at last something in the southwest! Can you put me down, I'll get the cheque to you ASAP.

metalsmasher said:This is my introduction to this forum as well. Iv'e tried a few logs on some other sights where all you see is teenage boys flexing their abs and trying to give advice on what supplements to take. Or comments like "why do you squat with such a wide stance? You should bring it closer to get a better contraction in your quads." Sry for the ramble. I'm happy to be here. I am on my second week first cycle of 5/3/1 training and am loving every bit of it. My goals right now are to continue to get strong while building my frame as big as possible. Im using the boring but big accessory work and have added a few thinks to trigger some hypertrophy. My short term goals are to compete in my first powerlifting tourney this year and to eventually compete in strong man. I'm 6"2" so i want to get a lot bigger before i compete in strong man. Peace

Welcome to sugden, you won't get any of that crap you mentioned on other forums round here!!

Cheers guys, just trying to really enjoy training again. I've been taking it too seriously, pushing too hard and it's leading to little injuries here and there.

Also just been eating everything! Time to clean up the diet and bit a feel fitter again.

I'm from Cornwall and defiantly think we need more comps in the south west. I'd be very interested.

This is one of my main points about the consistently heavy comps, that only seem to test limit strength all the time, IMO they force people to make decisions they aren't(or shouldn't) be comfortable with about use

Have to agree with this. As the weights at comps get heavier and heavier (just look at the increase in the last 10 years) we are placing an ever increasing pressure on guys competing. I think this counts at all levels not just open elites. With the demand and length on the comp session it may start to force guys to stay 'on' longer and longer. From PED use to PED abuse.
