Yes T, abs. Weighted ab work is good for your strength but not for the waist line lol.

I am doing the bdfpa southern/south east qualifiers on feb 17th. I wouldnt trounce you on bench anyway, your unequipped bench is 15kgs higher than mineHappy

Sorry Boar but Im a pc retard so will be unable to provide you with a link.

Speaking of Andy Bonner, apparently(Im never one to gossip) he didnt qualify for the 82.5kgs, only the 90kgs and he turned up on the day with a doctors note and eventually was allowed to compete in the 82.5kgs. He had been ill and dropped weight so I heard.

Theres only one option then T, if you are dedicated then you will have to break in to your gym! As its only one week then you may be able to just go back to your previous weights. I have had a week off due to a chest infection well on in to a training cycle and the week off has never affected me much.

Noooo! Dont take a break T, you are progressing so well! why cut that progress short? Sorry mate I have a bossy side when it comes to training, a bit too opinionated sometimes!

Isnt that what Homer Simpson eats? Is he a good bencher? What fed does he compete in? lol

Just a point of interest mate, the wdfpf champs unequipped 90kgs was won with 657.5kgs Im pretty sure of it. Just thought Id point out you are not far off that total.

Its crazy all the equipment that has come in to powerlifting do you guys think? I lift equipped because I started out that way not knowing there was any other way. I carry on equipped because I have got used to it, lifting tons more weight than you really can feels good lol! It would be nice if there was no such thing as equipment and everyone lifted on a level playing field. One federation, no drugs, oops, Im dreaming again! Not that I have a problem with people taking gear, its just I reckon it dilutes the talent pool somewhat as there are more feds as a result ie there are probably lifters in bpc who if they had never taken gear then could probably win in drug free and vice versa.

Anyway, last nights training;

Powercleans
60 x 5
90 x 3
117.5 x 6 sets of 3 reps
Sivvy showed me how to do a proper clean where you squat under the bar as you catch it. I worked up to 90kg, when I increased the weight I got it halfway up and dumped it! So I reverted back to the way I normally do them. I will try and get a video up so you can criticise my technique.

Partial deadlifts from just below knee height all reps dead stops
180 x 6
265 x 3 sets of 6 reps

Weighted crunches
30 x 10
30 x 6

Weighted leg raises
10 x 15
10 x 12

Weighted side bends
65 x 9
65 x 6

Im doing bench today. I feel a tad chesty but well enough to train.

Btw Mark Norton is an awesome lifter! Almost 260 raw is superb.
» Phils journey to the worlds (Go to post)20-12-2007 @ 15:56
Yeah, 250 would be wicked from 5x5 at 195. Any tips? I reckon if you are not gaining from a suit and wraps then a) the wraps are not tight enough. They should be so tight you are in pain and cant wait to get them off and b) the suit cant be tight enough. The suit I have was tight when I was a 90kg twiglet lifter and I am now over 100kgs. It needs to be very tight!

Yes, T has done very well lately. Good deadlifting mate. You benched 125 for doubles. What was your 1 rep max before this training cycle?
» Haydens log (Go to post)20-12-2007 @ 15:34
Ive just had a quick flick through this log. You have made some wicked progress like your bench going from 2 to 9 reps on 105. How long have you been training?
» Phils journey to the worlds (Go to post)20-12-2007 @ 15:18
I use an inzer hardcore mate. Bench shirt is a titan fury. I noticed your lifts are equipped. What fed do you compete in?

Cheers guysHappy

I dont think my raw squat pb is indicative of what I can really do. I did it the beginning of the year and I remember not feeling too good. I reckon I could do about 220. I still get a lot from the suit and wraps though, I do the wraps really tight and before I compete I wash and tumble dry the suit and it shrinks and is soooo tight!

Tonights training;

Seated military press
20x20
60x8
92.5x6
92.5x6
92.5x6

Ez curls
20x12
55x6
55x6
55x6

20mins stairs, 5mins bike, 5mins skipping.

Good session tonight, looking forward to thursday. Going to do powercleans and partial deadlifts.

I did say you seemed to go down forever but then I was behind you and when I looked at the video they werent as deep as I first thought. I personally think they were just in but as some of the guys said you need to go an inch deeper and give the judges no reason to doubt the depth. Practice getting every single rep in training between now and comp below parallel and you will be fine mate. Anyway, Im training at 6 tonight and not 7 so I will see you thereHappy
