Morning fellas

As you may or may not know, I am a powerlifting virgin, and am after a routine that will treat my gently first time

I have been lookinbg at various sites, quite fancy Tokars routine, but also like the look of the Basic Korte 3x3, The article below, however, has put me off a little.

http://www.deepsquatter.com/strength/archives/hanna12.htm

It states that this routine can infact hinder your bench, due to the lack of assistance work. This obviously dont sound good, especially with BP being my strongest lift. I know the routine will work differently from person to person, but thought i would ask anyway.

Have any of you guys who have tried this routine also found this problem? Do you rate this routine?

Thanks for your time fellas

Hi fellas, Im very new to powerlifting (have trained as a BB for 10 yrs) and was after a bit of advice

I am hoping to compete in the NW DIv of BDFPA on 27/01/2008. Over the weekend I found my 1 RM, some OK (bench 170), some pathetic LOL (SQ 160). Will obtain DL 1RM tonight (think its is about 190-200KG), By the way, I am 92KG

I am planning on doing Tokars routine up to the comp. How long do you fellas normally rest between sets (am I used to the typical BB 60secs)? Do you do much assistance work along with the main lifts?

Also, any advice on how to keep the feet planted to the ground without movcing when benching?

Thanks for your input fellas

cheers fruit

further off topic (Happy ), do you tend to do much in the way of assitance work with your sq, bp, dl

would you be leg pressing also on squat day etc?
