Not so much.....

So, now you have had a year off doing anything meaningful with your training, are we going to see a comeback?

No worries mate, I asked for it Happy

Good mornings felt good, I have done them a lot heavier in the past, but this time opting for a much slower and more controlled motion and feeling more hamstring and hip activation which is what I was looking for.

Fronties feeling ok, made a hash of my hand positioning on the 160, my plan had been for 5 but ended up flaring up my bicep tendon so just dropped the weight for a last set.

Need to do these more, as I know they help, I just always neglect them

Yeah, be good to see him doing some events. If he keeps going the way he is going he will be too fat for the 105s anyway Wink

Why did humans start eating meat?

It must have felt unnatural at first, to eat animal flesh. After all, we’re not so far removed from animals ourselves

Than is as far as I got before disregarding this article and reading no further. This is a prime example of why we are trying to teach school kids not to regurgitate the first thing google tells you.

Not far removed from animals???? When were we removed at all? No credibility beyond that point

Vid of the other day. One of my benches is missing and the failed one is on twice, thisis what happens if Colin does anything.

After watching it I went to gym yesterday to have a rethink on bench and squat tech as I am not happy with either.

Feel like the lifts I got were all really easy, but made a total mess of the last squat and the bench.

Bench paused
bar x lots
60x10
100x5
120x3 with commands
changed grip
100x2 with commands
120x3
100x9 long pauses
weight definatly feels lighter with wider grip, but I stopped doing it a long time ago becasue it bothered my shoulder. Will see what happens

Squat
Bar x8
60x8
80x5
100x3
120x3
140x3
150x3
170x3
190x1
Trying to sit back more and turn feet out a bit. Been squatting too much with knees bending forward I think. Have a real mental issue with sitting back

Who is the 4th, presumably you, colin, dhanni and one other?

Yeah, Matthew (Wellies on here) who is getting really strong if he can stay injury free

Yeah saw his numbers on fb, looks like he's in really good shape at the minute and could do really well at the scottish next year if he keeps on at this rate.

Yeah, hopefully he can keep it up.

I will have to wait and see if I can train consistently and get back to any level of strength by the qualifier, and if I will even be here, but if so then hopefully there will be 4 Shetlanders down

Cheers guys, was not going to do it until I got there and the guys started turning up, then I thought why the hell not.

It was good fun, we should do it more often.

Colin won yeah, he has been training really well recently

Great to see you lifting well today mate. It is the best I ever have seen you lift, as although your pre injury lifts were a little higher, the difference in form is night and day.

Know its been a long slog mate, but thinkgs are looking much better now

Went along to help out at a gym powerlifting comp today, and got roped in to taking part.

After 3 months off I had no idea what lifts to even choose, but thought it would make a fine training session

Squat
200 felt very light but just wanted to start easy
220 felt like an empty bar
240 felt quite nice, but I cut it a couple of inches high so didnt get the lift. Knew myself I had done it. Still, makes me feel better about it coming back reasonably quick

Bench
140 very easy, but I never do paused bench with commands, so this was a first for me
150 also very easy
160 nope, relaxed at the bottom waiitng for the command and got no power at all
Quite por really

Deadlift
240 effortless
260 very easy
275 wish I had picked a higher number as it was very easy

All in all a fun little training session, nice to see a dozen guys taking part, some of them did really well and hit some good PBs

I found it hard being a way off my max lifts, but it was fun all the same. Once Wilks was factored in I was 2nd overall
