nice heavy attempt mate not too many warm up sets, always a good thing if you can do that, when you get to my age i tend to do more and more warm up sets oil the joints

yes he competed for camaroon in 1994 commonwealth games i think he did 140-170 back then cant remember if he lost out to the india on bw or the indian lost out to him ?

s**t i just checked it was 2002 how old do i feel ? and the other guy was from pakistan not india but i did get the lifts right so my memory is not totally gone

lunch time run a steady 2 laps not busting a gut

plan run wed and friday (already done today Monday) weights light week tues thurs sun following week rest (just cardio)

3rd week back in heavy with the new routine week 1

watching the training is the main thing anyway most of us olympic lifters talk bollox anyway. that guy right at the begining - now the coach Frank Coillet im sure i lifted against him at an EEC comp around 1993 ?

i finally got it to work - petrov was never seen again after '87 they said he broke his arm or something

plenty more to fill his place they reduced varbanov down to 67 for 88 olympic to take his place apparently

after that i decided i need some proper structure to my routine - a 2 week rotation

week 1

saturday or sunday
snatch 3x3 2x2 4x1
snatch pulls 5x3

tuesday
power cleans 3x3
front squats 3x3
curls 3x10

thursday
deadlifts 3x3/2x1
bench 4x6-8
DB press /lat raise 3x15


week 2

saturday or sunday
clean and jerk 3x2 2x1
clean pulls 5x3

tuesday
power snatch 3x3
snatch pulls 5x3
curls 3x10

thursday
back squats 3x3
incline bench 4x8
flye 3x15

any comments/ideas or general piss taking will be noted

doing squat clean to your limit then deadlifting 180 and doing the squats is going to be too much

you could maybe get away at this stage with light squat cleans on 50s
moderate deads say 140s 4x2
then front squats 5 solid single around 100

that 1st 50k squat clean was spot on mate

i filmed myself doing some hang cleans and deadlifts when you are down next see if we can put them on here
