» Advice on home gyms setup (Go to post)22-06-2013 @ 10:50
first question - what are your aims, what are you training for bb strong man olympic weightlifting ? that depends on what type of equipment you need for all I know you could be wanting to get strong legs for ballet

one thing you need either way is a solid flooring to protect long term and not piss off your neighbours
» Training twice a day (Go to post)14-06-2013 @ 18:23
if you have 6 days off I would start by training twice a day on mon wed fridays once on tues and thursday

I would do sn and cj sq on tue and thursday

squat, pulls press variation and power sn power cj on doulble session, then maybe later on double session you could slowly bring in full squat snatch and cj on different days

maybe squat once every day to begin then build up to front squat in morning and back squat evenings on 2 double sessions if you can handle it

your technique is a joy to watch Mark wish I had seen you lift at a British

you should qualify for British 2015 nobody will do 200k CJ at any weight

win easy (and get best lifter award) and then just f**k off

never to be seen again until Worlds Strongest man on telly ?

isnt drop snatch the same as snatch balance ?

I would do lots of snatch variations for higher reps than is normal lots of work with empty bar 40,50,60 kilo reps wise Im talking 5+ as long as doing high reps dont get you too f**ked or the technique starts to go

apparently when Sulamanov 1st started he was told to snatch 100 times on what weight I don't know but basically as many sets of how every many reps it takes to reach 100 reps ?

you answered your own question - that's why I don't tend to do percentage training - if you cant manage the set weight for that workout it messes you up

I tend to train to 'maximum' (not limit) every work out it is self regulating

ie one day you maybe able to do 100 the following week/session 130 then I work from that weight as my best for that day and kind of do my percentages from that

» Gary Taylor - Tribute (Go to post)06-05-2013 @ 19:04
saw him snatch 180 in Cardiff and remember see a photo of 187.5 don't know if he did

that (at the time any British lifter doing over 160 was unheard of at any bodyweight)

» Clean to Front Squat ratio (Go to post)06-05-2013 @ 18:46
power clean it not relevant really - they say you should be able to power clean what you squat snatch but that's another thread

my power clean is 80% of my front squat
» 145kg clean and jerk pb, some snatch (Go to post)05-05-2013 @ 10:27
your technique on the snatch is very good not surprised you are doing more - must just be strong on cj in relation to it noticed your dip on the jerk pushing it slightly in front to sort this out I jerked everything twice bringing it back down made me jerk it straight under it
