idk why people like him (XXXXL) even punch people, all he has to do is stand there and look at the other guy like a pice of s**t and do nothing, the other guy cant do anything anyways, why to even touch him.

Mike_W_82 said:Ive been weight training for a few years, mainly in conjuction with rugby, using bodyweight exercises and weight machines with no real direction or programme to follow.

Due to a shoulder injury (broken collarbone, broken ends crossed over. Then an operation- bone graft from my hip, plated collarbone with screws holding it all together) i have had to stop playing rugby and have just concentrated on the weights.

After re-hab and physio, ive spent the last 6 months following the 5x5 (Madcow/Bill Starr) routine i found on the internet and i think ive progressed fairly well (obviously my weights arent impressive compared the guys on here but im pleased with my progress):
5RM Bench 90kg to 120kg.
5RM Deadlift 120kg to 180kg.
5RM Squat 100kg to 160kg.

My question is; what do i do now?

I cant really do 1RM as i train on my own and i wouldnt feel safe. Id like to do more strongman style training. (Cant do much overhead because of the shoulder). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (FYI im 6ft tall and about 18 stone).

Thanks.

Why train your 1RM when you can improve your 5RM ?

THanks, my idea is to be consistent and get 1 or 2 years on that chart so i can somehow see a pattern of my body's cycles over the year. I think that everybody has natural cycles over the year where you are stronger some months and weaker others...

I generally get stronger in October - November (if my calculations are correct) in my case this is Summer time by that moment.

moz said:You are hardcore! I like to train everyday but it's usually something different each day. Looks like your still making progress even though your knackered.

haha for my point of view, everyday is diferent, intensity change, form change a little (experimenting), max attempts change, speed change...

Today it was everything too easy. I mean, yes, it was heavy my last set, but my heart rate didn't raise as usual. I ended up feeling like if i had never started the workout... i might try 180kg today in a few hours... MIGHT... idk, mabe...

Squat
-----
50x3
90x2
130x2
150x2
170x2 Grin ( nice, i wanted 3 but 2 is ok. I lost balance on the last rep Embarassed )

-Form takes a beating when i raise the intensity, but if you see closer you will see myself correcting my knees-

MMmmhh... i didnt felt so warmed up, i should had done a few more reps with 50kg...
I did this an hour after i woke up, so i was kinda sleepy. Embarassed

I did every rep in a moderated speed, because knowing that i was not %100 warmed up i didnt wanted to go all crazy on speed and pull something on my back.

Squat
-----
50x5
90x2
100x3x8 ( nice and easy )

All pretty standard, to be honest.
Sounds like you cut your nose off to spite your face.

It was standard if the money was good. But it was too little money for so much compromise.

Also, it says that i was gonna be a manager or something, and i wasnt!! they put that on the contract to use a law that allows them to not pay extra hours.

I dont like when they try to abuse.

90x1
130x1
160x4 Grin ( Yeeahhh Buddyyyy! This gives an estimated of 175kg 1RM ! Yeehaaaa! )

» tlast2O12dude Light and Strong ! (Go to post)04-09-2010 @ 21:28
I will try a max in a few hours, or 160 for 2 or 3 reps. Idk, it will depends on how i feel.

And for the ppl thinking that this is easy because the weight is light, please remember, this is EVERYDAY training! my current max is at 170kg i started this program with a 150kg max! 20kg improve in 7 days!

22 days left... woohooo Roll-Eyes

Squat
-----
50x5 (testing high bar lol... hurts like hell, f**k it)
90x3
105x9x4 Embarassed (I hate high reps, i felt very tierd, i rushed most of the reps to end this nightmare)
