» Meniscal tear - which supplements will help with cartilage damage? (Go to post)15-11-2012 @ 16:43
Been diagnosed with a degenerative tear of the medial meniscus SO my question is:

Does anyone know of any supplements that can actually REPAIR damaged cartilage? MSM/Glucosamine and Chondroitin/Fish oil, or is it all too little to make much difference? I'm assuming I should be doing sets of 8-12 instead of 1-5?

Been diagnosed with a degenerative tear of the medial meniscus SO my question is:

Does anyone know of any supplements (or other non-prescribed stuff) that can actually REPAIR damaged cartilage? Was hypothetically thinking (of course) of HGH/IGF-1/MGF-1 or a high dose fish oil (thinking 10,000mg, but this might only lubricate the cartilage.)

Keep on hearing about you being called a Turkish Goat then read you're actually Cypriot (I'm Turkish Cypriot, so we won't go into "I'm a Cypriot but not a Greek one 1972 blah).

Question for you - do you know of any decent gyms in Magusa? I've seriously been toying with a plan for a while for now.

What defines someone as a Novice? I've seen people who have won British level comps and someone who's done 15 competitions enter novice comps....

Quick question - with the thick handled dumbell, do the plates still come off with collars, or are the ok with regular springs?

Without wanting to sound like a dick, I thought you wanted to lose a little weight? I'd have done more volume to up 1.) the overall calories burnt during training and 2.) increase basal metabolic rate through the increased volume and possibly more muscle mass.

Cheap alternative could be a rubble sack, with another one on top of it but facing the other way, with a cable tie to hold the sand in. As long as it's not thrown on the floor/dragged, I don't see why it wouldn't last a good few training sessions and in theory should only cost about £2 plus sand.

Why not pick one up for free next to a motorway?

Sorry I have nothing productive to say. Roll-Eyes

My numbers are now much lower, so i'd make an educated guess at being able to do more. My raw deadlift is now about 40kg less than it was at it's best, with about 3-4% less bodyweight. I wish I went for a rep out for pullups when I was at my strongest. Surely somebody like ShaneJer could manage 50+?

I'm pretty sure some untested female powerlifters' jaw size has grown significantly since getting some big totals. A couple of names spring to mind. All about the androgenic effects of certain PEDs.
