Sumo or conv? Get working on your lockout as suits help a lot from the floor. I get around 40kg out of a Metal Pro Squatter and I deadlift sumo. They give you less when you go conv as sumo lifters tend to have better lockouts and miss lifts at the floor, which is where the suit helps.

150kg x 3,3,3,3 conv, 3 sumo. Spent 20mins trying to get off the floor last night, back wasn't feeling 100% today anyway

Rack pulls with doubled purples
135kg x 10 second hold
175kg x 10 sec hold
195kg x 10 sec hold
205kg x 10 sec hold (with liquid chalk)
215kg x 10 sec hold
235kg x 10 sec hold no bands
245kg x 10 sec hold
255kg x 10 sec hold

Pinch grip
40kg plus bar
80kg - few seconds

Dumbell pinch grip thing, let go then catch with the other hand
10kg x 15
12.5kg x 7

Pulliups BW x 28 then gave up

Standing leg curls
34kg x 15 reps per leg

I have an inzer lever belt - the 13mm version. Some think it's a little too thick and use the 10mm one, but I find that too flimsy for my liking. The lever DEFINITELY helps and it's adjustable, and VERY quick to do/undo. You can also get a lever tighter than a buckle. for cheap, or pullum sports for quick delivery

I wouldn't bother with Benni's cookbook - the macronutrients are WAY off, as are the kcals for the macronutrients. Good ideas, but the info isn't reliable.

Competition with very sore legs.


90kg x 2
130kg x 1
160kg x 1
180kg x 1
190kg x 1 - one white light out of one
200kg x 1 - good lift
205kg x 1 - good lift

40kg x 3 - very good technique
60kg x 3 - same as above
80kg x 1 - s**te technique starts here
85kg x 1 - got it
95kg x 0,0 - failed to even clean it. I've managed 102.5/105 lots of times before, but just couldn't get it on the day. Shoulders have ALWAYS been my weakest and I am working on it.

Warmups with 60/80/100 per hand for about 5m
110kg x 15 metres. Felt very heavy when I was picking it up, but grip was solid throughout and did the whole course with no drops.

Overall, 4th position and happy with that (especially as I was by far the smallest guy there) although I know I could've done better had I not messed up FTOH. Deadlift was the most i've done since having pneumonia in Jan. Deadlifts are slowly going up.

Someone pulled 310? on his 2nd, failed his 3rd at knees. 120 was the biggest FTOH, I made a hash of my FTOH only getting one attempt in and failed to clean 2nd and 3rd. Farmers was good - changed to 15m due to lack of space and there was a 150 farmers (by the guy who pulled 310).

I finished 4th overall, everyone had a great day, bit of banter.

Was good to put a face to a few more names.

Not being able to fully extend the knee suggests that you have a loose flappy bit of meniscus which is jamming up your knee joint. They can do surgery to trim this off or you can wait to see if it gets better by itself.
I tore my cruciate and meniscus together and ended up with a massively swollen leg (whole leg top to bottom including the foot) for at least a week. I couldn't straighten the leg for about a month but it slowly improved when I started doing stuff like cycling. It was over a year before I could walk without pain.
The NHS failed to diagnose it soon enough so I never had surgery which I would have totally accepted if offered. But in the end I was glad, because I recovered to a decent functional state without surgery. (took years though!) and surgery would have involved a graft from the hamstring which would have given me a weak hamstring for life, which may have been worse.

Thanks for the information. I first had the problem about 7 years ago, and was unable to walk for about 2 weeks, with very little ROM for a couple of months. Typical swelling around the knee, physio tests confirmed it etc. but no MRI. This improved slowly, I was doing empty bar squats 3-4 times a week, getting a tiny bit lower each time. Most of the time, it wouldn't cause me any pain, but this past 2 weeks or so i've been unable to lock my leg out at all, and it would be painful if I tried. I do have an MRI confirmed for Saturday 10th Nov, and what you're suggesting is get the torn bits trimmed with NO hamstring graft?
