did quite a bit of knocking steel stakes into hard ground today at work! So, grip was knackered and as i did squats yesterday thought it would be best to leave the gym for today Happy sledge hammer is definatley more use than a treadmill.

squats -

tried squatting wearing flat trainers to see how it felt.

bar - stretching and about 10 speed reps.
60kg x 8
80kg x 6
100kg x 3
110 x 3
115 x 1
removed my trainers at this point.
115 x 2 PB Thats better!
70kg x 16

machine calf raises - best set 435lbs x 8pb

decline sit ups
bw x 12
bw+10kg x 10

EZ bar bicep curls
30kg x 10
38kg x 6
38kg x 4

Did some forearm roll+curl things till my grip died at the end.

Quite happy with todays squats, definitely prefer squatting with no trainers on.
onwards and upwards!

cheers! good to have a definate answer! and i can see the point about deadlifting cars and so on.

do any of you strongman competers do sumo as part of your training anyway?
» Sumo deadlifting in comps (Go to post)06-09-2010 @ 14:01
hey, was wondering if sumo deadlifting is sometimes not allowed in strongman comps? if so, why and how do they judge it to be one or the other? Confused
need to know as i hope to compete eventually and need to see which one i prefer.
thanks in advance!
