What's a members profile? (I presume that answers your question)

This would be a great comp for you Ben I would be tempted to come and watch.
You would need to join gbpf first.

Cheers buddy, however given the level of interest in this comp, I suspect it would be full before I am able to join the GBPF.

I don't particularly want to pay the annual membership for nothing.

I'd quite like to have a go at some powerlifting, but I've never competed before and don't have any affiliation or membership with any federation.

If I was to compete in a tested comp, would this be a good option? Do I have to be a member to register for this? Or can I register and then pay my membership?

Ben are you competing this year?

Yeah, in the finals.

I'm deeply offended by these accusations ben. I'm just making sure there is a fair level playing field for all the athletes. If there is no testing how do we know everyone is natural. I'm thinking of having a natural version of all the classes at my strongest man in the south event too with every athlete being tested so potentially could have 300+ athletes competing.

Lol - that's all.

Start behind the line, split timed, no suits, straps allowed. 75 secs.

You could add 25KG to each lift and it would still be to easy for Karl!

I suspect that the only thing you're interested in is trolling and/or making stupid posts.

However since you obviously have enough financial backing to pay for 160+ T-shirts and 60 trophies (see Strongest Man in the South thread), maybe you could fund a few extra drug tests. That way we could ensure everyone is tested.

I like this post!

You've listed 20+ categories, with different events and claimed they will be ran in the same afternoon. We all know that this isn't going to happen, but lets pretend for a second it will work!

Working on a minimum of 8 people in each class:

That's 160 athletes, 100 events, 60 trophies, 160 T-shirts.
You've also offered prize money to the top 3 in each category, with 8 entries you would make £160. What prize money would you offer? 1st - £100, 2nd - £40, 3rd - £20? Even then you would have to stump up the cash for the 160 T-shirts and 60 trophies...

Lets assume you have the equipment and personnel to run all events head to head and have 2 different categories running simultaneously.

Starting at 12pm you would have to get all 8 people through their 5 events within an hour (12 minutes per event) and then be ready to start the next category straight away in order to be finished by 10pm...

If you were able to run 4 categories simultaneously (every event head to head, meaning you would need 8 refs, at least 16 loaders and a minimum of 4 time keepers/scorers) you would then have 24 minutes per event to be finished by 10pm...

I wish you the best of luck with this! If you manage to get enough in each class to make a competition worth while and run them all in the same afternoon, it will be the single most impressive feat I've ever seen in strongman (plus you will be very poor)!

I think they are relying on the fact that there are only enough competitive strong(wo)men for 1-2 per class, therefore it should be manageable (just)!

I could do with 2-3 lighter stones, either 80,100,120 or the 90,110.

Willing to split them up?

I cant see anyone beating Thor on truck pull or stones, the title will come down to his ability to squat.

Like Eddie and Shaw? Thor can't help who is there, he came second in pressing - Z came first - is it really that much of a freak result?

Thor was in the yard training the OH medley and keg toss before he'd even qualified for the final. He might not be the best log presser in the world but he fully deserves his 2nd place, I'm very glad that there's more to strongman than absolute strength.
» Worlds strongest man (Go to post)28-03-2014 @ 19:14
Brian and Thor were the most impressive in the heats but Z has put himself in a great position after loading.

If Thor has a good overhead (top 5) he may well be the one to challenge Z for the title.

I'd love Terry to make podium, but the big 3 are in such good shape its going to be tough, especially with Burke leading the chase.

4 Brits in the final is a real possibility this year, I've got 5 stronger guys in my group and a set of events that make it even more difficult! But given the circumstances I'm just going to enjoy myself. P.S. Thor could win it!
