lol!

They looked easy but you're gonna need a very generous ref to have them both passed!

Can anyone suggest a decent hotel/B&B for the Saturday night?

110KG -5
120KG -5

BW+15KG – 15,15,15

Good mornings superset with seated barbell twists

40KG – 10 (10 GM’s + 20 twists, 10 per side)

Few updates on my blog, including a brief write up from my comp in Sweden and a few videos of recent training.

Video from tonight's deadlift (3rd set of 2@ 320)

Good! But I was after people's opinions on it as much as anything.

All looks great Ben, good job. Its obvious a lot of work has gone into this already, I'm sure it will all pay off on the day.

I just wanted to raise the issue of running order on the events, obviously the first event will be picked out of a hat/randomly generated....but what are peoples feelings on using reverse order on the following events?

I know Will choose not to use it at ESM, which must have been a concious decision (he has all the technology to do it with ease). I personally feel that going last is a big advantage in some events and should be given to those who earnt it.

The system Will used (moving top 3 to bottom, or visa versa) will always mean some people come out better than others. Someone might be 3rd on an event where running order doesn't matter and then towards the bottom for the rest. Equally someone might have to go after there nearest rival in 5 out of 6 events.

I feel reverse order not only gives people the chance to be a little tactical (i think that's a good thing) but means that people can know what there closest rivals are doing throughout the field and use that as motivation for extra reps/faster times.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but it is kinda relevant here! I realise that it probably doesn't make a massive difference overall, but everything else has been planned right down to the finest details!

I'm not sure I will use one (which is why I'm testing it out in training). I'm fairly sure I could do 240KG x 10 in wraps, but suspect there's 12-15 reps there with the suit. Will get 1 or 2 more heavy squat sessions in then decide on the day.

JC said:I must be reading that f**king blog wrong, surely. You failed a 105KG strict press......yet can log 160+...surely not!?

If so, how the f**k...!!! (and also it gives me hope that you are actually human)

Nice solid few sessions on everything else. 140 x 5 on the powercleans is quality!

My strict press is utterly terrible! 100KG is indeed my PB. However I can jerk double that (Behind the neck).

Did some more squatting in prep for Britain's last night, I really don't like all this equipment, lol.

The video is my second set, playing around with bar position and grip on the axle.

The poor week of training has extended into this week! I'm blaming the knee problems and the 15 hour days I've been doing in an effort to replace my whole kitchen.

I did however get a decent session in tonight in very hot conditions at the gym.

Updated my blog with a few little bits, but nothing of note.

Had a good few days off this week (my body needed it) spent 3 days in Venice which involved a lot of walking! Been suffering with knee pain as well.

First session back tonight, I've updated my blog accordingly. Highlights were few and fair between! Managed 300 deadlift for 3x3, a little log press and not a lot else!

Great work Craig, now all you need to do is change the date so it doesn't clash with UK 105's!

Big_Vess said:could always have the farmers stationary for time if the grass area is soaked.

also do we know the turning point if the farmers goes to plan?

Farmers will be on tarmac, and turns should be 50m...depends on how parking is organised on the day.

First time I've looked at the site mate...quality...very professional too!
Training looks solid mate...3 triples @ 130 log is lovely pressing

Cheers bud, still a few things i'd like to tweak on the site...but my brother has done a fine job on it.

Log was reasonably comfy, always find it much easier in a comp tho.

Little circuit and some stretching last night, trained at home and the heaviest weight I have is a 12KG kettle bell, so that had to do!

Angel said:given that rain, thunder & lightening are all predicted for tomorrow and judging from the torrential downpours in Oxford this morning a few towels over the bits of kit will not be enough, is there a wet weather contingency plan? Deadlift & log can be done inside, farmers walk can become heavier and be farmers hold etc....

(pre-emptive stike: Awesome George W, no need to comment Amish!)

No, if it rains we get wet. The gym is not big enough for events to be done inside. We might consider a slight alteration to some weights if there's torrential rain, and possibly allow straps on the deadlift. Otherwise it goes ahead as planned. (obviously stones aren't an option in the rain)
