Hix may be right, perseverance may work.
But I have never seen a strongman pull in one of those, and even if you do get used to it, I cant see you being able to rep in it because of how tight it will be.
A single ply suit is surely the best option Ben, Instead of wasting 6 weeks trying to get this one to work, only to find its an insufferable piece of s**t lol

I think you're right, this metal suit is good for a 1RM, but I'm going to get a bigger version of my Titan for reps.

nowadays i like to be less restrictive with my new suit. No problems getting to bar its more for support now than kgs.

Its hard to say what guys have used what suits as most have them under their shirts.

On side note, top lifting mate.

Thanks for the input buddy. I think this suit has potential, I'm going to keep hold of it but probably also get a single ply for repping, as I can't imagine using this for 3+ reps!

Training looks good mate,
Im no gear expert, but why did you get a multi ply suit? Surely that must be the reason it feels different that the last one.

Because it was recommended in a thread I start on here, lol!

To be perfectly honest, I didn't even know if was multi ply (shows how little I know).

Maybe I will just need a different suit?

Deadlift - suit and straps

Second session in new suit, I've managed to stretch the legs a bit since last week so it's a slightly better fit. However it still feels too tight at the bottom (can't get to the bar or breath) and too loose at the top (straps fell off).

up to:

320KG - 1
340KG - 3
340KG - 1,1

Verdict: I don't feel like the suit is giving me anything at the moment, especially not for reps as I can't get enough oxygen in.

Suit off, then:

300KG - 3,3,5

Bench

up to:

160KG - 2
Wanted 5 doubles at 160 but elbow was sore so stopped after 1

Leg press

4 sets of 10 (weight unknown and irrelevant!)

I remember my old suit being much more comfortable and useful (when it fitted) any pointers on where I'm going wrong?

When was the last time you stood in the circle and tried chucking a discus or a shot?

It must be 3 years, but you've got me thinking about a trip down to the track. I've still got a discus lying around at home.

What is your max squat Ben?

Those 300x4 on youtube look easy!

Not sure about a 1RM at the moment. I think I'm good for 300 x6 so maybe 330-340?

Cheers buddy, I've had confirmation from Darren that I'll be going but don't know the dates or events yet.

Training from yesterday:

Back squats (low bar, belt and wraps)

up to 275KG - 8,8,8 (some kind of crazy P.B.)

Log C&P - technique work

130KG - 2,2,2
140KG - 2,2,2
150KG - 2
Much happier with the new clean technique

Chins

BW - 13,9,8

Barbell bicep curls (varying width of gripth)

40KG - 6 sets of 10

Isolation curls

3 sets of 10

Reverse barbell curls

3 sets of 10

Lol
you think you could hitler the 165 wsm axle for reps?
if so, no, point using continental

I could hitler a 165, but I don't know about reps. I think an efficient continental would take less out of me.

I'm slightly worried about the state continentals leave my stomach in!

You had your giants live place 100% confirmed now?

No, haven't heard from Darren. I'll probably give him a call this weekend.

WILLSAN said:strong session mate. what suit did you get in the end?

Cheers buddy, that wasn't one session though! Even I'm not that crazy!!

I went for a Metal Pro King, but I got a 54 (for a 125KG lifter) what I should have done is go by the leg size. I'm going to try stretching it!

JC said:Strong. Axle clean better (or should I say easier) with bit more of a shelf?

Oh, and can't strict 130 log!!!!!! Weak as piss Wink Tongue

Why would I need to strict press a 130 log? lol

I did 155 twice; Hitler and continental. Still find the Hitler much easier at that weight. But the shelf is still work in progress!
