using a cable cross over machine with the handle at the botton.

Stand facing away from the weight stack, bend down and reach between your legs and grab the handle with both hands and then stand up pulling your hands through your legs until your stood up right.

Does that make sence. I'll film it next week and show you. Its a great exercise for your lower back and hams

i think i get the idea Happy but you can always video yourself anyway Wink

Whats a pull through?

INteresting to see what others do for back assistance because this an area I neglect but which could do with some attention.

Friday 16th Nov

Swim in the morning.

Equipped squats
Bought some Titan suit-slip-on tights and it made all the difference Grin
10x20kg suit bottoms
5x60kg suit bottoms
3x80kg suit bottoms
3x90kg straps up - not parallel
3x100kg straps up and loose knee wraps - not parallel but easy as pish!
3x3x110kg everything pretty tight - wasnt paralllel but I think it was more psychological than anything. Was pretty easy Grin Was going to do another set but was suddenly hit by fatigue so stopped. First time I have shouldered 110kg on squats - felt HEAVY.

Deadlifts (raw)
5x60kg
3x90kg
3x100kg
2x110kg
5x2x120kg - wow tiring!

Rows
3x10x40kg

Shrugs
10x40kg
10x50kg
10x60kg
10x70kg which is about the right working weight for me

Pullups: 4,4,3,3,3,3

Hanging leg raises 3 x 5
L-hold leg raises 3x10
V-ups 3 x 20
Reverse hypers 3 x 10

I am very tempted by this one too. Would mean a competition two weekends running though - but I guess with a rest week between the two it could be ok...

good goal with the DLs Grin Any numbers to predict yet?

Hmm too early to say with my prep how its going. Getting along well with the bench shirts and with the knee wraps but not conquered squat suits yet! Strength-wise I dont think I have made much progress but plenty of time yet and I always think that and then surprise myself at comps so hopefully this wll be another case of under-estimating myself Happy

sounds like you are pleased with training! Comp is still 3 weeks away (I say that because I need that time to prepare yet!) Solid-looking session!

DMPM, if you need a place to stay you are welcome to stay at ours - though we are not going to be home, lol! Fruitbat and her friend is going to stay over anyway.

And then probably get a ride from Rick or someone else from manchester to the comp venue.

aye if you want to crash at Joni's - PM me your mobile number so I can let you in or meet you and show you the way!

and whilst we are at it... anyone driving from Manchester to the comp got some space in their car?
» What order would you have the lifts in? (Go to post)13-11-2007 @ 10:42
i agree with the current order. I am usually pretty spent from adrenaline and exertion after squats - might be partly why my bench always let me down in comps - but of the three lifts, bench is the least tiring I find and less leg-dominant which makes for a nice "rest" between squats and Deads. I need squats first because I am always terrified of them - and just want to get them over! Once squats are done, I can enjoy the comp! I love fnishing on Deads because you can put every last bit of energy in them and I get so much adrenaline for them that I completely crash afterwards! Wouldnt be any good trying to do more than lift a little finger after deads Grin
