well to save hassle and stress I just joined WPU which under exceptional circumstances they have agreed to extend for next year also so that I can do the 4 nations this year and not have to pay £20 membership for a few months.

Hey bryn will the NW Open in December be open to non-NW division BWLA members? I know it's equipped but unequipped lifters can compete in equipped comps can't they? On the subject of non-BWLA members in BWLA competitions - I can see why non-BWLA members can't compete especially with the ridiculous liability stuff these days. What about BWLA-affiliated members though? Because I am a BWLA member and not a WPU (Welsh Powerlifting Union) member I wasn't going to be allowed to compete for Wales at the 4 nations unless I joined WPU even though WPU is affiliated to BWLA. Why does BWLA have a Wales division if you still have to join WPU to compete in and for Wales? That means I have to have 2 memberships and thus pay more.... The WPU membership I have will also be applicable for 2008 - would I be able to compete at BWLA comps with WPU membership next year???? It sounds to me as if powerlifting needs to start unifying rather than splintering!!!!

Post Edited: 09.10.2007 @ 19:04 PM My progress is staggering mainly because 2.5 years ago I had barely set hand on a free weight and never squatted or deadlifted. Also at that time I weighed somewhere in the region of 48kg. When I started weights I couldnt bench press a 20kg bar. 2 years ago: Deadlift 105kg Squat 55kg Bench 37.5kg BW 56kg January this year Deadlift 120kg Squat 72.5kg Bench 55kg BW (63kg) Now: Deadlift 145kg Squat 100kg Bench 62.5kg BW 65kg (or more)
