Post Edited: 21.07.2010 @ 20:19 PM by MattF Deadlift (Oly Bar)wup - bar x 4; 60 x 4; 90 x 2 (pulling straps on due to hand hurting); 130 x 1 Working Sets 160kg x 5 (confortable, more there) 170kg x 4 170kg x 3 170kg x 2 (reps dropped off as fatigue set in and legs got tired) Axle Deads (no straps) 160kg x 2 (felt fine, just tired, 5 plus should be there fresh) Inch DB C&P 10kg x 4 30kg x 1 30kg x 1 40kg x f (too heavy 4 press) 35kg x 1 35kg x f 35kg x 1 35kg x 1 Log (C&P every rep, well at least tried to) 70kg x f (four times failed the press, I am truely s**t at these). WG Pulldown and LowPulley Rows - 3 sets each 6-10 reps. Happy with deads considering when I tried them 2 weeks back after pwr cleans I failed the 170. Pressing has to be a long term plan, to s**t for a quick fix.

Cheers Shane, but to be honest feel quite weak, with the exception of some event stuff. Short (and s**t) pressing session today Military Press bar x 6 40kg x 3 50kg x 3 50kg x 3 55kg x 1 (didn't press with any intensity so lockout was took ages, difficult rep) 52.5kg x 3 52.5kg x 3 Push Press 50kg x 1 55kg x 1 60kg x 1 65kg x f (no shoulder or tricep strength, s**t) 60kg x 1 Push Press Double Dip 50kg x 1 (squat jerk - if thats the correct term) 50kg x 1 (squat jerk) 50kg x 1 (split jerk) 50kg x 1 (split jerk) 50kg x 3 (squat jerk) 50kg x 2 (squat jerk) Overall poor, if I intend on being able to do the log will have to double dip.

Cheers Ed, training most Sundays now so you and Matt should make it a regular thing.

Cheers Andy, fairly happy with events at the moment, but obviously restricted by my static strength (or lack of it). Slowly but surely I will up this though.

Your yoke was impressive Ed and good man for putting down as 205; 245; 275 etc, James and Karl were talking s**te about the weight of it.

A few people were down to do some events today; I didn't do loads but everything felt ok. Yoke (all 20metres ish) 125kg (that 5 is VERY important) x 1 205kg x 1 245kg x 1 Farmer's 60kg x 1 100kg x 1 Duck Walk 140kg x 5m 160kg x 15m (had a few stops with this, did it on slight lateral slope which ruined me, but 20m is definately there in one go if its on a flat surface) Sled Drag 160kg x 15m x 4 runs (2 uphill = hard, 2 down = easy, funnily enough)

Foam Rolled Back Squat - felt tired so only went for triples wup - bar x many; 60 x 3; 80 x 1; 100 x 1 110kg x 3 110kg x 3 110kg x 3 110kg x 3 (all felt well within myself, but they were the slowest reps ever, showing my need to become more powerful out of the hole and get my hips through quicker, on a positive felt strong) Back Squat - starting from bottom position (inspired by Willsan) 40kg x 3 40kg x 3 40kg x 3 40kg x 3 (this felt quite hard considering the weight so it is promising because it uncovers my problem areas; will continue to do these) Incline (45degrees) CG Bench 60kg x 4 60kg x 4 60kg x 4 60kg x 4 (all paused on the chest for a few seconds to disipate SSC; wanted to replicate log lift and improve tricep power; all reps were as explosive as possible) Quite short, but a bit tired and wanted to play with cleans, DL and events on sun.

Yeah, both of them went a few metres with 140 farmer's, and in fairness to Giles his trainers weren't the best suited for push and pulls.

Push Press warm up - bar x 4; 40kg x 3; 50kg x 4 60kg x 1 70 x f (this rep showed my triceps are s**t) 65 x 1 (x2) 60 x 1 - then i did 5 reps of lockouts, with a rom of about 6 inches x 5 sets Seated BB Shoulder Press (infront) bar x 5 40kg x 5 50 kg x 5 (x3 sets) Shoulder Machine (seated) Lockouts 4 sets of 5 reps Seated Machine Dips 70kg x 5 90kg x 5 95kg x 5 100kg x 5 (x 3 sets)

Karl was the only 1 who managed it, his calves looked even more abnormal then usual when he was doing it. Also found out a little trick on the duck walk that will help and the sled got better.
