Well done Rob and congratulations. Well done as well Michael.

I make a good enough living. If you are good enough and allow for a loss in the first few months whilst you build up a base of clients/ athletes and put in the hours, you will be okay. I've never advertised apart from a facebook page (which I update sporadically, with 90% of my new business coming from referrals, and I am definitely not a salesman, but people come to me when they want to lift properly. Having said all this, the "housewife" will be your staple, it is in my opinion up to you to educate them and get them lifting.

Can't agree with it being a "hollow victory" because you are so much better than everyone else - where is the logic in that? So if someone works their ass off and wins something by a fair margin, it is hollow? What if he didn't train as hard, and only won it by a little? That is a reasonable win?

Exactly smalls

...I also hate watching Usain Bolt's hollow victories. James, stop training next time please mate, or don't try as hard, or maybe don't look to win a world title at your natural bodyweight, or stop setting world records at your bodyweight, you hollow prick Wink

Anyone got an idea on how Wayne Tunstall got on?

Sorry mate! The goal is 350 so lets hope you do 255.

My new aim is to not let anyone beat me by 120kg on the deadlift Happy

My aim for Dragons on the deadlift was to not let anyone pull 100kg more than me, you have now made that objective very difficult to achieve.

Really nice Shane. The strength on the 5 was brilliant and the confidence to do the 290 and the bail speed was ridiculous, having said that you did become 290kg lighter suddenly Happy

I think I'm gonna go with 5's

Would it be ok for me to go for say 227.5kg as a pb (220 currently) and a 500lbs lift?
» Olympic Dragons 5 (Go to post)08-08-2013 @ 23:32
I'll help load when I fail to move the openers.

Also, General, with the deadlift can we select whatever 3 weights we want?
» James 170kg push press (Go to post)04-08-2013 @ 00:34
All I know Shane is he now only responds to the words, Fatty Boom Boom, cake, and Baby Ruth. It is a shame when someone turns into such a mess
» James 170kg push press (Go to post)03-08-2013 @ 23:57
Really don't understand the fuss about a 1.5 x body weight push press Happy
» James Ward 150kg Strict Log (Go to post)27-07-2013 @ 16:19
As per the title, James did a 150 strict log today, the video of which is on his Facebook (if someone would be so kind).
» Karl Grant 380kg british deadlift record at BSM 21st July 2013 (Go to post)22-07-2013 @ 13:22
Nice lift Karl, as others have said, 400kg at 105kg must be a target? And that would be immense.

I said:All the best to Karl (and everyone competing). I'm predicting a 380kg pull for him.

And so it was Happy
