» Insurance bstards! (Go to post)12-01-2010 @ 10:47
Don't get insurance with the Post Office that's for sure. Not only do they take you from behind they don't even give you any warning when they're about to!

The missus got insured with Post Office last year for £350. No circumstances changed, no renewal letter. We went on confused last week and ended up moving to another place for just over £300. Found out the Post Office w@nkers don't send renewals they just automatically take your next years insurance payement without telling you - at a total of £1268. The to**ers.

At under £14 for 200 servings you may aswell take it daily, it'll hardly break the bank - even if it doens't have any effect Happy
» Metal Squat Boots VS Safe usa Contenders (Go to post)10-01-2010 @ 19:33
I love my Metal squat boots but I am a wide squatting PL'er and they aren't great for narrow squats really.

Good shoes do make a good purchase. My only grips is my Metal boots are wearing out and I can't stomach the cost of another pair!

Try some converse trainers - you can pick them up for £25 and they'll let you know if you want a heel or not before spending £100+

To be fair I think most of the competitive (and honest) powerlifters have used competition lifts.

But yeah a little tag for 'in-comp' lifts would be good Happy

Isn't that what the league is for?

Or am I doing it wrong!

Should have a competition on a more unusual lift that people don't do very often. That'd make it more interesting and less biased towards the more experienced guys.

Like zercher squat/dl, OH squat, one arm barbell clean + press etc.

Or not. You decide.

Just put a level teaspoon in your pre and post workout drinks IMO.

Myprotein's Creapure is pretty good for mixing unlike normal monohydrate so you shouldn't really lose any.

Now that's primal Happy

It would leave me always eating, always drunk and never in the gym!

Edit - Pete H, WTF is your dog staring at?

Just suit bottom on to start with IMO, straps down no wraps or belt. Try triples and I would use a box (if only for the knowledge that you can sit on it if all goes wrong). You really need to sit back more in a suit than raw and this takes some getting used to.

Add a belt second week and maybe try doubles.

Once your confident try straps up. This will be weird as Matt said, but it's just something you tolerate after a while.

I wouldn't bother with knee wraps until you can squat in the suit.

Hi there mate, just found your journal. Training looks to be going well, you'll put up some good numbers I'm sure in Feb (and almost certainly more than you let on).

There is life in the old dog yet!
