» Deadlift training with Straps, yes or no ? (Go to post)12-05-2010 @ 15:05
No he didnt speak about training regarding the hernia thats jusy my logic

what he said was along the lines of 'it is a very small hernia but will need an operation, with it being so small it is quite a complicated operation as things could get stuck inside'

or along those lines, the reason im still training is because before i knew it was a hernia it never gave me any trouble it was just a lump

he actually said its a more complicated procedure because the hernia is so small, so if i make it any bigger the operation will be less complicated and more likely to be a success! =]

Yee but do you not think it could have been beneficial?
» Hernia (Go to post)12-05-2010 @ 11:50
For the last couple of months i've had a lump just above my bellybutton, it doesnt hurt at all during training, and hasnt affected it at all. It was actually my girlfriend who noticed it.

I thought id get it checked out and it turns out its a hernia, only a small one but needs an operation.

Its gonna be a few weeks until i can get it operated on and as i hardly noticed it ive decided to keep training.

I was wondering if anyone else has suffered something similair and i'm after some advice on what to do after the operation with regards to rest and rehbilitation.

I recently read that stretching (specifically PNF) can actually increase muscular strength.

I used to do martial arts and my flexibility was quite good although since starting powerlifting i've neglected stretching. I've tried doing it but cant really get into it, mainly because its boring as f**k.

Just wondering if anyone encorporates stretching exercises into their training and how they do it??

I have though about not taking them and I have already ditched protein drinks.
I now just drink 4 pints of milk a day and eat well, that's all I think is needed to gain naturally imo works for me,why not you?

It probably would, i think its mostly a placebo. Also Convenitent, apart from the ethyl ester i just mix protein with slimfast. Cheap all in one and works quite well.
» Training first thing in the morning? (Go to post)30-03-2010 @ 00:25
I've done smaller workouts in the morning, sets the day off to a good start. Doesnt matter what time it is though if im in the right mood workouts go better regardless of what time it is
