nice session jonny! log is looking good. what sort of time was the 100 x 5 in?

They were from the shoulders Will, so not long at all. My pb with 100kg reps from the floor is 6 reps (done in about 30 secs).

ah I see. 6 in 30secs is fast as f**k! whats your target for the quals?

Training Today:

Deadlifts (no belt):

140kg x 3
160kg x 2
180kg x 1
200kg x 1
220kg x 1
240kg x fail - was in the bag and my hook grip failed! noooo! Unhappy
240kg x fail - mixed grip didnt feel right

2" Axle power cleans:

60kg x 4
70kg x 3
80kg x 1
90kg x 1
95kg x 1 PB
100kg x fail

arrrgghhh! 240 was there for the taking but my hook grip blew out! bit of a disapointment as I was hoping I could go alot heavier with it. nevermind, I know im strong eough to pull it now. ive just got to work out how to hold it! Grin

pretty pleased with the clean pb but that extra 5kg for the 100 feels like 20!

a few points on the stones:

- Im guessing youre not using tacky? if thats right id get some and train with it if I were you. stone lifting is very different with/without tacky. I rarely train without it.

- have you tried doing stones without a belt? I think id be right in saying most dont use one for stones.

- instead of standing straight up with the stone you could try to lean back a little to try and get a bit of drive from your hips to get past the sticking point?

what do you use to cusion the floor from the stone mate?

the floor has rubber stable matting down already, I put a few layers of insulating foam down and then another couple of layers of stable matting on top. I angle it slightly so that the stones bounce back towards me. ive also got 2 tyres against the back wall incase they bounce the wrong way.
