| Hiya Guys, We have 2 places available in the 'heavy' novice comp at Boltons Strongest Man 2012. First come, first serve. Apply by e mail only at strongmanbolton@hotmail.co.uk You will be mailed an app form which must be returned with £20 entry fee. Events. 110kg axle for reps, 90 secs. 120kg (x2) Giant farmers for 40 mtrs, drop and turn @ 20mtrs. Carry & Load, 90, 100, 110kg sandbags onto platform. 10 mtr carry in. Hand over Hand vehicle pull, 15 mtrs, (approx 3.5 tonnes.) The comp has become one of the biggest events on the Bolton Calender and is held in the very busy town hall square. The comp also coincides with the opening day of the 2012 Olympics, huge crowd, special guests, dancers,training displays, stalls and the mayor in attendance. Lots of Local media interest. *ABSOLUTELY NO TIMEWASTERS* SAT 28TH JULY '12. | FIRST COME FIRST SERVED,.. 2 'OPEN' ATHLETES REQUIRED for BOLTONS STRONGEST MAN '12... Taking place on sat 28th July in Bolton town centre, on the opening day of the Olympics, we expect upto 3000 visitors throughout the day in this free community event. 5 athletes from our hometown ( competing for the Boltons strongest man title.) 2 more needed to compete for the 'rest of the UK' title. EVENTS,... Giant railway sleeper farmers - 140kg each hand, 40mtrs, drop and turn @ 20 mtrs. Hand over hand - vehicle over 15 mtrs, quickest time (approx 4 tonnes..) Axle C&P - 130kg, max reps, 90 secs. Carry & Load - 110, 120, 130 sandbags, 10 metre 'carry' onto 5ft loading platform. This is an amazing day, heavily promoted and lots of local media interest.
