I think plyomterics, squats and power cleans can easily live together in a repertoire for a young athlete.

I taught myself to power-clean - and I am sure that it would only take a couple of sessions with a decent coach for most people to learn the fundamentals; plus it doesn't require the mobility/flexibility of a full-clean.

Sprints, Depth Jumps and Box Jumps always helped my vertical - and squats are an awesome exercise for building overall strength - so why not do all three?

It is horribly bad for you....but;

1) It is Arthur Fonzerelli cool.
2) It is a great conversation starter with The Ladies: even these days.
3) No one ever punched someone's lights out in the street because they had one cigarette too many.
4) A beer, a cigarette and a summer evening is a combination made in heaven.

Right knee is in bits.

Tried squatting and ended up doing 95% of the work on my left leg. Canned it there.

OH Standing DB Press - worked up to 5rm, then did 5 x 10.
Seated Rows
LatPulldowns
Pull-ups
Facepulls
Bicep Curls
Neck work.

Off to the doctors, I suppose - not looking forward to the diagnosis. I am actually quite worried.

DB Bench - 3 x 5 x 32kg
Head-supported DB Rows - 5 x 10
Facepulls - 5 x 10
Pull-ups - some
KB Curls - 10 x 12kg (still very painful on my wrist)

I am kind of spoilt in Cambridge - there are quite a few awesome beers on sale in pubs here; and a great brewery named 'Milton' a few miles up the road.

My favourite pint at the moment is 'Icarus' by Milton. Great stuff if you like it light and hoppy.

It is pretty difficult to think of many jokes that don't have a victim in them; comedy is, after all, tragedy plus time.

Frankie Boyle is not all that funny - has got into trouble with employers in the past over comments about athletes - and most of his jokes are variations on the theme of "vocal tourettes"; but binning him for the same reason you hired him seems to suggest to me that they are mainly interested in not having to pay him any more.

Wednesday - Boxing.

Thursday (am) - Squats - 6 x 3 x 70kg
Facepulls - 3 x 20
DB Bench - 3 x 5 x 30kg
Neck Harness - Lots.

Thursday (pm) - Run for 20 minutes.
