Friday 14th August 2020. Not so sweaty at the Farm tonight, 8 lifters in. Weighed 117.70kg. Squats. 2 x 5 x 20 5 x 50 5 x 70 4 x 85 3 x 95 2 x 105 1 x 115 1 x 125 2 x 110 3 x 100 Ne real issues but my how we've fallen in 5 months! Bench. 12 x 20 8 x 40 6 x 60 3 x 80 2 x 90 1 x 100 Failed miserably, absolutely buried me tonight. 3 x 3 x 80 Horrified at how poor my bench is. | |||

Monday 10th August. It's been a while. After being stuck in a Peruvian hotel room for two weeks back in March i finally gets repatriated to the UK only to find the Farm closed and the UK in lockdown. However, following various risk assessments the Farm was allowed to re-open today. So this was literally the my first time at the bar since early March! Six lifters back on the first night! Red Light Pete, Pete the chair, Jermaine, Mark, and Stewart. Weighed in at 117.40kg, i can live with that. Squats - all really deep. 2 x 5 x 20 5 x 40 5 x 60 4 x 80 3 x 90 2 x 100 1 x 110 I guess we've got to start somewhere. Bench. 10 x 20 8 x 40 6 x 60 3 x 70 2 x 80 1 x 90 1 x 100 All good until the 90 but the 100 was a proper grind. Happy to be back after 5 months absence, all the annoying aches and pains appear to have gone and i've even weaned myself off Ibrupofen! | |||

Bench. 12 x 60 8 x 60 7 x 70 6 x 80 5 x 90 4 x 100 3 x 1 x 110 8 x 82.5 No problems. Everything felt heavy tonight, probably due to an excess of swimming yesterday! | |||

Evening ED, your always welcome at the Farm. Bring Junior down and show him what his dad used to do... All my benching now is close grip as the Osteo-Arthritus in my wrist prevent lateral bending! Monday 2nd March. Just lifting on tickover at present. Weighed in at 117.6Kg, my lightest since August 2018!!! Six lifters at the Farm tonight. Deadlifts. 2 x 5 x 70 4 x 100 3 x 130 2 x 140 1 x 150 1 x 160 1 x 170 1 x 180 Miserable fail... 1 x 180 Better, a little more determination to see the lift through. 3 x 130 My deadlift seems to be suffering big time with the lack of training. Bench. 12 x 20 8 x 60 6 x 80 3 x 100 2 x 110 1 x 117.5 2 x 110 4 x 100 8 x 85. All self unracked, the 117 was probably tonight's limit. Should be good for at least one more session this week before travelling again next! | |||

Friday 31st January. Back on the road next week so this will be the last session for a while. Had no time to eat today so working out on a single piece of toast and a black coffee as my daily intake! Deadlift. 2 x 5 x 70 4 x 110 3 x 130 2 x 150 2 x 165 2 x 177.5 No issues up to here, however the 177 double wiped me out and I cut the last three doubles of 170,160 & 150. Sorry to hear you missed out Martin, perhaps a hoovering of the platform between the three lift and the bench only would have helped. Equipped lifting is becoming something of a minority sport populated mostly by Masters. Over the weekend there were 58 Masters entries, 45 seniors and just 4 juniors! On top of that several categories were won by classic lifters and if you exclude the bombers (sorry), there were only 4 competitors over the weekend that did not take home a trophy. | |||

Friday 17th. Bad night at the gym. I'm putting it down to having suffered all day with a dose of the Eartha's. Weighed in at 118.85kg. Squats. 2 x 5 x 20 5 x 60 4 x 80 3 x 100 2 x 120 2 x 135 1 x 145 should have been 2x. 0 x 152.5 should have been 2x, in-racked it then put it back 1 x 150 2 x 130 Nothing left and back playing up! Bench. 10 x 20 8 x 60 6 x 80 1 x 100 1 x 105 1 x 110 2 x 100 5 x 5 x 80 Nothing like the session planned. A full weekend ahead of refereeing at the equipped then back in the gym on Monday. |
