» Strength decline with age? (Go to post) | 17-12-2020 @ 12:07

Post Edited: 17.12.2020 @ 12:09 PM by Finch If you train sensibly, listen to your body, let injuries have enough time to heal and don't abuse PED's there is no reason to not keep getting stronger as you get older. My deadlift PB came at the age of 53. My bench PB at the age of 55. My squat PB at the age of 60 (an M3 European record at the time). I have only ever lifted raw / unequipped. Too many people want to be breaking records six months after they start lifting and overdo their training.

Friday December 5th. First day back at the Farm post lockdown. Weighed in at 115.4kg, so i've only put 2kg of the 6kg lost back on since the recovering from Covid. I have lifted nothing in the past 4 weeks so this was a very easy session. Squats to 120kg, lot's of them and all over deep. Bench to 100kg, easier than i thought they would be! Hex bar pulls to 165kg, knees complaining about the earlier squats now! Strict OHP, lots at 35kg. Back on Monday so will try to get a regular routing going, at least until the next lockdown.

Wednesday 4th November. Last session at the Farm until December 5th due to lockdown! Bench. 12 x 20 8 x 60 5 x 80 2 x 100 1 x 105 Fail. 1 x 105 3 x 90 6 x 80 3 x 5 x 72.5 Close grip. The first 105 attempt fail was down to poor set up, it went much better 2nd time. Hex Bar Pulls. 5 x 68 4 x 88 3 x 108 2 x 128 1 x 148 1 x 168 I've done very little pulling from the floor lately and these proved tougher than expected. Strict OHP. 5 x 20 5 x 30 5 x 40 3 x 2 x 50
