Tom,

You still doing any sprint training at the mo?? Curious what the carry over might be with the xtra strength you've developed if you could keep the same leg cadence...

30/11/10

pissed about last night having fun,

Warm up rowing then treadmill, stretch.

Flat bench, not done these in a while cuz of dodgy shoulder, so been sticking to decline. good warm up with bar. 5 reps throughout with 10 kg increments up to 130kg good speed off chest on all, started feeling shoulder on top weight so sacked it there.

Decided to try some BH split jerk, never tried before.

worked up to a double with 130, feels much easier and less stress on lower back than regular BH jerk, (prob because of my bad tech) def a lot more pop at lockout, will stick with these for a while and see where i takes me...

16" deads never tried this height before,

worked up to a triple with 260, double OH hook grip,

Tried 280, thumbs not to happy... fail

280 x 3 reverse grip, still not a great deal of confidence in my back......small steps.....keep telling myself not to get to greedy, my impatience will be the end of me one of these days, thought you were supposed to mature with age, think im in regression....

power cleans off block from same height as deads up to 110 x 3.
Another exercise i enjoyed stops me rushing the pull...... like it.

finished off with double footed bounds onto 4ft box, increasing distance away till about 2 m.

Good fun sesh today, and no major tweeks

Happy

Nothing too strenuous last night, couldnt be assed going to gym, so went to the indoor climbing wall instead, one of the best grip training exercises you can do in my opinion, and great fun as well. Havent been for a few mths and def a noticeable reduction in finger, grip strength..

Martin,

Never fancied the u90's. Would much prefer the challenge on training my arse off and competing against the 105, Ive pretty much been the same weight, between 93-95 for the last 20 yrs. so thats puts me in the under 105's. Like my food to much to be arsed dieting down to an unatural weight for me.

Mon 22nd

Usual warm up and stretch, at indoor track, Why the fek was this not here 25yrs ago.
Still got tightness in Hammy so noting daft tonight,

6 x 80m at about 80%

Various Plyometrics.bounding, standing long jumps, dont feel these in hammy for some reason, etc. expecting these to stress hammy more than running but no real discomfort. good sign....

Medicine ball throws against throwing wall up to 10kg. Shot put in cage various drills.

Warm down stretch.

Wed 24,

Warm up spin cycle, usual stretches,

Clean and push presses

few sets with bar,

5 x 60kg

5 x 70kg

5 x 80kg

5 x 90kg

5 x 100kg. all as fast as i can manage. form started to go 4-5 rep at 100

18 1/4" dealift

Not tried these in while, but need to build confidence in my back again,

120 X 5, 160 X 5, 180 X 5, 210 X 5, 250 X 5, 270 X 5, 290 X 3, 290 X 3.

grip letting me down, Grrrrrr,

Stretch out

Still deciding if im going to do the 105's again this yr ,so need to start loading up all the prime movers more often. (note to self)
Great that the 105's coming to Scotland, but not much use if im not good enough to qualify. Im as curious as most to see how the top Scots,English and hopefully, Welsh, and Irish get on head to head in the same comp, as not sure if we have ever had a strong showing from all home nations in the same 105 comp in the last couple of yrs? Would like to think that the North, South, east and West divide is not as great as some people may believe?? COULD BE A LIVELY DEBATE??? for another thread.

» Deadlft suits to mend a broken head?? (Go to post)19-11-2010 @ 12:22
wise men of Sugden,

f**ked up my back pretty good last yr doing a strongman comp, took me about 7-8 mths to start trying to deadlift again and although its probably healed and i can lift submaximal weights with confidence, i have none handling the heavy weights anymore. Never worn equipment so have no reference points but was thinking a deadlift suit might help get me over this hurdle and be able to attack those singles and doubles again, its only off the floor i have the issue, always slowly trying to feel it up just waiting for something to go ping (not a great way to lift). My confidence is really hampering my ability at the moment. Maybe i just need to wrap myself in more neoprene!!!!!!!

Any thoughts? anyone else gone through similar??
