Trained today, really light weights but felt heavy, still not 100% and I'm at the lightest I've been for years, 103.8kg this morning. Eek

Power snatch
40 x 5
50 x 5
50 x 5
50 x 5

Snatch
40 x 3
50 x 3
50 x 3
50 x 3

Frontiers
72 x 5
72 x 5
72 x 5

Really slowed the movement down and tried to keep every muscle tensed.

Strict log
55 x 5
55 x 5
55 x 5

Again slowed it down and kept tight.

Feeling wrecked now, need food.

MikeBromby1 said:I found band resisted deadlifts better than speed deadlifts for deadlift strength increase simon. Teaches you to pull faster because of the weight increasing throughout the rep, works the grip good aswell.

Cheers Mike, I did think about introducing bands, but Coan has worked for me before so thought I'd go down that route instead.

Oxman said:Sorry to hear the diet is not working well for you mate, its worked so good for me. You could try upping carbs on training days before and after training, thats what i've done and its working well, bags of energy and the skipload gives another shot in the arm so to speak once a week.

Thanks mate, I was training yesterday on a skipload day so should have had loads of energy.

Thing said:maybe skip load isnt for you. or it could be an off day.

do you feel if the oly stuff is helping you out in the squats and deadlift yet?

Well I've binned the skipload diet and will gradually up my carbs for each meal, as for the Oly work, I can't say I've noticed any carry over yet but I'm still only on light weights at the mo, so maybe when I'm snatching 100kg and C&J 130 I'll notice a carry over.

Wed 10th dec

DL Coan Wk 4
70 x 8
120 x 4
172 x 3
Belt on
212 x 2
245 x 2 this felt heavy
275 x 1,f

Crap, crap, crap.

Spd DL
202 x 3
202 x 3
202 x 3
202 x 3

s**te, no speed at all.

Power Cleans
70 x 3
80 x 3
Crap.

No energy, no strength, no motivation. Toys thrown out.

Had a think about this and I started a new diet (skip load) about four weeks ago, the same time I started the Coan routine, I've lost 5kg in that time and what looks like a lot of strength too. Also today was a skip load day and I just felt lethargic so I'm going to forget about the diet, eat as I was before but a little cleaner, drop back a week or two on the Coan routine and maybe lower my figures too.

Strong work Paddy.
» a really well run comp (Go to post)10-12-2012 @ 20:40
I can't believe what happened either, it was a well run comp, I'm pleased with my performance, if it wasn't for 'the incident' I would have been on the podium. Big thanks to all involved and to Mike the worthy winner.
