Oxman said:Comfy 140 after a long way away mate, very decent! Cheers mate, I'm a bit rusty but better than expected. Shoulders and triceps have been screaming at me. I think this shows I'll get carry over to my overhead stuff. I have a very swollen knee at the moment. Nothing sinister, I've been bitten by some sort of midge and had a bad reaction. It's effecting how my knee tracks so don't want to rock the boat. If it carry's on focus on upper body lifts but I've had a few extra days recovery to see how what happens.

Silly volume again mate and pb central! Lovely snatch grip deadlift, I'm a big fan of a wider grip for hitting the upper back. You make that weight look easy.

Wednesday 27th June 2018 Band Rows x 25 reps x 25 reps x 25 reps Band Face Pulls x 25 reps x 25 reps Band Triceps Pulldowns x 25 reps x 25 reps x 25 reps Neck Nods 8kg x 50 reps --Needs an increment EZ Curls 40kg x 8 reps 40kg x 8 reps 40kg x 8 reps I've got the urge to bench again so lets not fight it. Today I wanted to find out where I am so I can plan. However I had a total lack of any hype. Everything was done with a very Meh attitude (not sure if that's good or bad). Anyway, if I had some care in me I'm sure I could have put up another 10kg at least. this is still a good starting place. Bench Press 60kg x 5 reps 80kg x 5 reps 100kg x 3 reps 120kg x 1 rep 140kg x 1 rep 100kg x 5 reps 100kg x 5 reps --I think I'll stick with this weight next week and do a 5x5.

Tuesday 26th June 2018 Band Rows x 25 reps x 25 reps x 25 reps Band Face Pulls x 25 reps x 25 reps Neck Nods 8kg x 50 reps EZ Curls 40kg x 8 reps 40kg x 8 reps 40kg x 8 reps SSB Squat 60kg x 5 reps 100kg x 5 reps 100kg x 5 reps 100kg x 5 reps --Wow, very humbling, 100kg felt like 180. These actually hit my quads harder than front squats. I'll keep these in for a bit and see how things go. Trap Bar Dead Lift --Low handles. 135kg x 3 reps 175kg x 3 reps 215kg x 3 reps 255kg x 1 rep --Something didn't feel right, in the bad sort of way. I think my position is off, it will take a few sessions to learn how to use the low handles optimally. I decided not to push my luck and left it there. This is actually quite a positive thing, it means I have an area of weakness that can be trained. Happy days.I think I need to vary my deadlifts a bit more. Something like 3 week cycles with different bars and heights. That should make me stronger across the spectrum.

John said:That some big workouts mate epic, nice work on that squat too Cheers mate. Using the bands as warm up and to build overall volume means I can get a lot of work down in relatively short time. It's a game changer that I wish I'd discovered years ago. I do need more bands though so I can just leave them set up in various positions.

John said:Still by most ppls standards that one hell of a session, hope it clears up up quick, knowing you you will bounce back twice as hard x2, maybe it wasn't great by your own high standards but this is awesome for mortals.

stephen9069 said: Lol poor choice of words "kid watching" does not sound right. Me and my lass decided to use it as a form of cardio instead of the spin bike or trying to go running. The thinking was it would be better for my knee and shoulder, i think it was the front crawl that caused the problems im taking the kids tomorrow so going to try breast stroke i think all will be good with that. Oh it was deliberate I think you're right. Front crawl probably puts you through some ROM that irritates your shoulder.

Oxman said: Ta mate, you know me...I love my volume. I am toying with changing to a push/pull/off/repeat set up but currently sessions are working so loathe to change as yet! You would love an ssb bar mate...very you, its brutal! Yes, the insanity is certainly back in full force. Well you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I do have an SSB but it's too damn wide for my garage. I'm a bit loathe to use it outside the rack although I have done before.

Oxman said:A solid session mate...I forgot about landmine presses...I may have to revisit those! Cheers mate. It can be a bit frustrating working technique when I just want to load the bar but it will be worth it in the end. Landmine press is good fun but I don't intend to use it seriously, it simply wanted another press and z-press was out as the rack was in use.
