i wouldnt worry about tht mate its a trap bar deadlift completely different infact iv never done tht before lol il probably suck at it mate

Knees hurting slightly at the top after squats tonight. Thoughts/opinions?

It's not bad. It's an ache not a stabby pain and it's just above the kneecap area.

I've been recommended knee sleeves. Anyone know any good/cheap ones?

I've done them before but almost never from the low height. I either used the high handles or them on a step etc to practise for a car deadlift i had a while ago...

i used tubigrip bandages mate jus double em over my knees and they work ok but neoprene ones are the boss mate

meh i cant see me hitting less than 300 on tht dunno if tht'll be good enough to place tho

Fronties with medium rehband knee sleeves,
warm ups,
up to 130*1, pb,

Trying out the sleeves. Felt nice round my knees which had been aching a bit since Monday's heavy session. Also dat confidence boost. will ask for some from Santa(mummy) for xmas...

db bench
warm ups,
28*4,
32*8, 10, 5,
meh, not bad. Just getting used to Db Benching again tbh.

Trap bar deads,
warm ups
180*1, quick but back not strictly perfect
190*f, could have monged it easy but didn't want to today. Was seeing what i could do reasonably strictly...
160*3, very strict form, easy. Will work up from here until the comp in June with max trap bar ded. Will mong up weights on the day obviously but can practise good form until then so my back doesn't break...

A trap bar PB since i never trap bar deadlift. Wink


Was a quick day. In and out in just over an hour. Saved 10 minutes by not being bothered to log all the warm up weights. Wink

My 130kg Frontie

Excuse the ending. When i finished the rep i went super lightheaded and it took a lot of effort to rack the bar without passing out. Managed that then went backwards. Just grabbed the bar enough to not slam into the floor but not fun. Didn't do dropsets for this reason. Wink

And i had to return the knee sleeves as the guy i was borrowing them from was leaving...

Thanks. Wanted to hit 140kg Frontie soon but have peaked it now and only got 130 which is alright i suppose... Will have to drop the weight, up the reps and work back up in the new year.

Was just gauging where i was with the trap bar. It's just my mid back is weak so rounds which i don't like. I can mong weights over this but didn't want to do it today.

got my starting Strength pulling seminar on sunday so have been rereading the power clean and deadlift chapters in prepertion. I've been told the SS power clean is crap by Oly people like Smalls but it will still help me during FTOH events.

Went to a starting strength pulling camp today.

Day was chatting about the Deadlifts then doing them then chat about power cleans then dog them.

Regular readers know my deadlift form is crap and always had been. Always.
This is due to a bunch of form problems but basically having hips too low and trying to squat up the weight then it breaks down and rounds. Worthing was the biggest example of this.

Tom, the guy running the camp, was shocked with how bad my form was. We worked through 5 points.
1. Setup one inch from bar
2. Grip
3. Shins to bar
4. Knees out to elbows
5. Chest up/ flex lower back.

Then valsalva and lift. My main problem was lowering my ass during step five. And or pushing the bar forward with my shins.

Only worked up to 140*5 but first property set of Deadlifts I've probably ever done. Will smash form in and strength will go up to match old s**t turtle back.

Then power cleans. Taught in rip fashion of deadlift then jump and rack.

Only worked up to 60kg but did it for about 6 triples. Form was inconsistent. I did get nice full extension though and he used me as an example to show someone else. My main problem was racking. It was still in hands a few times so wasn't good.

Also, used hook grip for all my power cleans just to try and learn it.

Did all but final set of Deadlifts doh. Up to 120*5 doh then mixed the top set. Probably could have done it doh but wanted to focus on other form issues.

your max is wrong if u can squat 140 x 7 ur closer to 180 than 165 Tongue
