Yeah I was a bit gutted that I didn't go. I'm just taking a break from that sort of stuff, really wanna get my head down at uni and just build up a nice solid base. Hopefully put on a bit of weight too. Your progress up to the comp has been pretty good!

Fair enough, probably a sensible choice tbh.

You seen the u80kg ESM they have planned for next year? Reckon you'll be back in the competitiive spirit by then?

Old pb was 180 fro the floor i think so am very happy to pull 200+. I've been told that with my squat i should be doing much more on the trap bar. Will have to work on it a bit. I had sensible picks though.



When I had a squat of 180 I did 220x10 on trap bar DL. I reckon you're getting the technique wrong somewhere!

Kettlebell sounds hard - but surely you can always clean with two hands??

I guess it's partly technique and partly you have better deadlift levers over squat levers?

Yea, i can clean it with 2 hands. But whenever i've seen any one handed press in comp before you have to have your second hand clear before the press. In this they allowed bracing with a second hand on the shoulder and during the beginning of the press which makes it a lot easier imo. But i was like 2nd to go so no-one before me had done this.

Meh, would not have made much difference overall tbh.

No, where is that?

I'm not sure, I have exams June time so will depend how well prepared I am for them! Happy

The rest of the judging was 100% spot on but they didn't specifically say this wasn't allowed and then one they'd allowed it ocne they had to continue to allow it.

Light workout yesterday post comp. A truck pull really does kill you for days afterwards.

Squats,
20*5, 70*4, 100*3,
120*3,
belt on,
140*5, 5, 5.

Felt alright.

Press,
20*5, 30*4, 40*4, 50*3,
60*5, 5, 5.

meh, whatever

Kbell clean and push press,
28 *5, 5, 5, 5, 5

working on proper form on these. Much better after watching the others at the comp. Elbow in/down and kbell on the arm instead of elbow out/up and weight on shoulder like a dbell press...

Workout from Friday:

Fronties,
20*5, 60*3, 80*3, 110*5,
first time post wrist injury. Kept it light.
Wrist still hurt a little afterwards. Hmmm...


Bench ,paused,
20*7, 40*5, 60*3, 80*3,
90*5,5, 3f. Meh. Not bad for paused tbh. Should have aimed slightly lighter and got them all though.

Deadlifts,
doh,
60*5, 110*3,
mixed with belt,
140*10, 10. Dead.
(Pracitising high reps for 160kg*reps at next comp, want to beat 12 i did last year)

Kbell clean and push press,
24*3,
32*5, lockouts quick but not held brilliantly today.
32*5(first 3 lockouts held nicely),
32*5, all final set solid

Tbh if anything this is proving that if i had done the damn practise in advance of the comp enough i'd have smashed that 44kg Kbell fine and then gone onto finsih the whole medley. Nvm.

belt on,
140*1,
160*3, 2f, 1f,meh.

Wanted 3*3 but optimistic after not much heavy squatting lately tbh.

Press

20*5, 40*4, 50*2,
64*5f, 4, 4, 3.

Meh, alright. Kinda wanted 3*5 but it's all good. 5RM only 65kg.

Trap bar holds,

160kg*30 seconds, 29 seconds

Practising for car hold in future comp. Dunno why this feels so damn hard compared to farmers at heavier weights. WEird.

I hate high rep bench work. Give me triples all day. can do 100*3*3 probably paused right now. Lol.

Deadlifts,
doh, 70 *5, 110*3,
Mixed grip, 140*2,
Belt on,
160*1 straight into 180*1, nice and easy.
(Practise for medley at Worthing strongest man, 180/200/220/240, will do 170/190 next week)
145*11 in 50 seconds.
(Practise for 160* max reps in 60 seconds at August comp, Reckon 13 is there on the day, need to maintain pace, Will go for 150*12 next week)

Kbell clean and push press,
28*3, 32*1,
40*1, video'd,
40*1, 1

Whilst this is awesome it just proves that the only reason i didn't finish the medley is because i was too stupid to practise the damn kbell pressing enough before the comp. FFs...
