hello all,
i have decided to put my journal on here as well as on MT because i realised that most of the good advice/encouragement I have been getting has been from people who are also members here (boar, tony, fat pete, tokar et al).

I also want to say thanks to Haydn who has the current highlighted journal. I have wanted to "get into powerlifting" for some time but have always thought that I was too weak to do a competion. His fantastic work/progress and recent 1st comp has shown me otherwise.

I recently finished cutting and and now trying to learn how to squat/dead and bench correctly and build up my weights slowing. I am using a pretty simpleroutine foe the minute (rippetoe) because simple has always worked best for me and I start f**king up when I overthink stuff.

My best total in the gym was last year (bench 115, squat 130, dead 170:total 415).
I am currently aiming for 500.

I am trying to do a little bit of cardio just to keep healthy, but the main effort is getting bigger/stronger on the powerlifts.

today I did 30 mins on the elliptical trainer.

I will update more later because I'm off out now!

I forgot to add that I am weighin myself weekly and yesterday weighed in at 93.5 kg. I am currently trying to gain a bit of weight (slowly). i have been as heavy as 107kg a few years ago when I playing some serious sport and I am trying to get up to that sort of weight again, but stronger.

Today's session (with terrible quality vids for tony) was this:

I'm deeply hurt. That's the best room in my house that is. It's the only place I get a bit of peace and quiet from the wife and kidsGrin

Actually, my gym is in the basement of my flat with no lights at the minute. I'm (hopefully) moving house soon, so i might even be able to make videos you can see!

That is truely the most hardcore workout location I have ever seen.

Its brutal, no lights, just a concrete box and a weight set.

thats what eventually stopped my doing the DB presses - i was risking injury just getting them into place !!!

I loved them though......aaahhh bisto memories....
