I never got much pain with mine but I went through a phase of it popping every rep and even started when I benched after a while I just backed off heavy pulls for a few weeks and built back up slowly

I use a ghr as a Rev hyper and attach bands if I want resistance

rolling my arse and prirformis helps

hammering my hip flexor stretches helps

making a point of better posture helps

Sensible ab work helps

you need to just sort out that region and get it back go non monged

Iron cross or Crusafix stretch and 90/90 stretch will help for your SI joints.

i amin to let the leg weight stretch the hips and lower back over around 30seconds to aminute.

stage one is what i use the most as it hits the priformis and the top of the hamsting for me.

mobility drills do will also help.

i'm not a heath practitioner but have my own issues with my lower back and SI joints and these have helped me out. the other suggestions above could well help you more but you need to try different things out to see what helps you the most.

I like those stretches.

You can also switch to sumo for a while as this is a lot easier on the SI joint.

BTW just found this article, which seems excellent, on different ways to train for those with SI joint pain.

Rev Hypers regular
Clamshells and X-Band Walks pre session
regular gobet squat stretch before bed (3x 1 minuite using a mirror to check position) / 90-90 stretch / couch stretch (not 100% sold on this one)
Release work for piroformis / glutes using a ball before a workout.
Good sports massage regularly (1-2x a month)

I got a diagnosis for my glute pain iv been having for the past 18 months. "a mechanical problem with the SI joint". I have been doing box squats to strengthen and activate my glutes, also stretching my hip flexors. Unfortunately I don't have access to a reverse hyper but I have been using a regular hyper every day for 5 sets of 10. I bought a ball type object to dig into my piriformis and surrounding areas. Have been doing so with success. after 8 weeks of doing most of these things (and less time doing the more recently introduced things) the pain is still there. I expect that one day it might go away, however I need to start deadlifting again in the run up to the british classic.

anyway if you have read and enjoyed that rather pointless story and you have any experience or (non fungal) tips concerning this then allow me to allow you to please do some typing about it on this thread. Thank you for your time

oh yeah also what exactly is it that makes a reverse hyper better than a regular one? they both seem to be pretty much the same movement, although I don't speak from experience just from what they look like

I had to pull out of my first ever comp last weekend due to an injury with my left SI joint. The pain is horrible and my mobility has been extremely poor since.

I was struggling with pain in my left side from my lower back down to my calf for a few weeks but it was manageable with some rolling and pain killers. However the closer I got to the comp, the worse it got. Despite taking a week off before the comp the pain was getting worse and I thought it was sciatica. I finally went to see my chiropractor 2 days before the comp and she told me I have an acute strain of the left SI joint. She strongly advised me not to compete...

I tried to compete anyway but I just couldn't put any weight through my left leg. Opening event as log lift and I just couldn't push off my left side. Despite taking 1g of ibuprofen pre the pain was just too much and I pulled out.

It's now just over a week since the comp and I'm still struggling. Sitting down for lengthy periods of time causes me to seize up. Walking normally is a challenge and trying to lift things is a no go.

At present, I'm in too much pain to even foam roll.

Light stretching is all I can do and that is a challenge.

My advice to anyone who thinks that they have SI joint issues, would be to get it looked at asap and treat it before it gets too bad.

This sounds all, familer I to have picked up a weird problem that my trainer thinks is an si.it started to get better intact felt really good after a couple of weeks streaching then yesterday was doing deads got to 160 which is what I lifted the week before with no issues as I took the slack out of the bar and started to drive my legs there was a massive crack in my coxits I think it was horrible I thought I'd really f**ked it I'm not sure if I have not but 2mins later I lifted the weight. Then 2 mins after that couldn't. Seems like I'm back to square one :/
