Just wondering if folk reckon its possible to train for both powerlifting and strongman at the same time? Seeing as the goals are pretty different. And what a regime would look like? Also on a side note, theres no dedicated strength gyms around me, all bodybuilding bedwetters, so what would be the best excersises for strongman with no specialist equipment? Cheers guys. Ewan.

m in the same boat with crap gyms, i save up n go to a decent gym when i can (about every6-8weeks) meanwhile squat, front squat, deadlift, push press, strict press etc.

but if ur thinkin of competeing its worth a trip to a gym with good equipment.

edit, also i think theres quite alot of people who compete in both powerlifting and strongman

i think it is. you sqaut and deadlift for both sports the only differnce really is there is never really a bench event in strongman (although its not unheard of), and never a overhead press in powerlifting.... but most strongmen train there bench to improve there overhead and most powerlifters train there overhead to increase there bench. Im going to do a powerlifting comp early next year, but i will train strongman stylee for that...it all makes you strong anyway.
