no mate i was wondering the same, i mailed the organisers and havent had anything back I`m going to asume its 12:00 like on the entry form, Im in the same boat going to probably have to wait til after I weigh in til I have my food. Might aim to be there at 11:00 so I can weigh in as soon as they let me.

Just got back from watching this comp. Great comp and well organised except for weather which couldnt be helped.
Few Strongman celebs down there running it: Dave Meer, Adam Townsend & Simon Flint.

There were 17 competitors if i remember correctly - ozzie and jaimea were 2 members off here that i knew of.

Ozzie made mincemeat of the car pull and jamiea made the deadlifts look far too easy even managing to pull the tongue out to his boy half way through.

As i left jamie was joint second and about to do the stones - not sure what the final positions were but im sure someone else will be able to post them up.

hey yeah just got back to london now, showered and water, ive got some video and photo's i will post up the pics later tonight and the video as and when i can figure it all out haha (new camera)
was so nervous for my first come didnt know what to expect, as i new id make the weight no worries i just ate loads (more than normall haha) the couple days leading up to it, good feed in the morning and just tried to keep hydrated and my energy levels up during the comp.

1st event : hand over hand into pull, competitor pulled a L200 with big dave inside!!! seated then ran round the back of the wagon grabbed a bar on chain and dragged it back again, everyone seemed to be having trouble dragging, the 1st competitor dragged it back on with only 1 slip in wat looked like a fast time, i THINK the next 6 didnt drag it back not to sure, i went 8th and i nailed it, so happy. I could hear the croud yelling as i got it moving on the drag back and pulled myself into 1st place!!!!! but then 2 other of the 17 competitors for the day beat me so going into the second event i was 3rd. very pleased for my first comp so far.

2nd event : 90kg frame press, horrible bit of kit i thought but thats probably because id never done it before, didnt make 1 rep smashed the top bar of the yoke on my face and chipped a couple of theath and now my jaw hurts, joint about 12th (about 5 people didnt make a rep)

3rd event : 90kg farmers normally a good event for me but experience of only even training and never being in a comp got the better of me, wasted time picking the farmers up (2 or 3 seconds) but when i got it up and started moving from the video i have looked like i was going for a around 30 second farmers wich would have been a pr for me (33 is my best but then i broke our farmers in cyprus so i could train it) droped it after about 10 meters cause i lost control (lack of experince again) and it hit my leg, again wasted time picking it up again, but hey first come, all experience, second last in this event

4th event : 170kg axle dead lift, never had i got this above my knees in training, infact ive only got it about 2 inches of the floor before. cracked my amonia capsule and pulled for all i was worth first 2 were pretty quick got a 3rd, took a rest pulled a 4th, then a 5th, i new i didnt have time for the 6th but i tried it anyway to try and show a bit of heart lol, so 5 reps is a massive PR for me on the 170 axle!!! felt awesome to do to pull it after trying so many times in training and failing. second last in this event

5th event : 90kg stone for reps. only the top ten finishers got to do the stone due to time, i asked Dave Meer if i could do it anyway but not for points and he said there wasnt enough time Unhappy sad times as i am pretty good with a stone over the bar due to my long arms and 6ft1 height.

all in all i came second last with 21 points and 3rd from last had 22 points ohh so close lol.
i had a great day, a guy from stafford came up to me and asked if i wanted to train with them when i moved to stafford in june, met some great guys, seen some awesome shows of strength and got some awesome first hand experience in my first strongman comp. Bring on the next one.

massive massive thanx to Dave Meer for accepting my application (that was late lol) and for putting on the event and to Body FX GYM in Coventry for hosting the event.
