It's more expensive than the other company that does the same stuff "Soylent" but even the unflavoured product is pretty decent. I'm planning on actually trying to do a month on the stuff. Also, if you can prove you lived on it for a year, Huel will give you £35k

I was thinking along the lines of trying this then adding a good meal and snack in the evening to make up calories, would also make food intake more consistent which can only be good too?

The results I wanted were a healthy breakfast that'd be quick and keep the hunger at bay until lunchtime. It did the job bud and tasted pretty decent. There's plenty of it per meal also! I heard about the soylent fiasco too. Supposedly they have a new factory now.

I eat a lot of meat Member 5124, 3014 posts SQ 245, BP 130, DL 275650.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | It's product designed by James Collier who is one of the big bosses over on the MuscleTalk forum. It is getting some fantastic reviews and feedback, and from my mind it fits a niche for sure. I've not tried it mind, but I'd have no qualms about using it to replace some solid meals if I needed too in my daily regime.

Member 5201, 62 posts SQ 260, BP 180, DL 315755.0 kgs @ 94kgs UnEq | I use it for 2 meals a day currently. Suits me as its convenient and easy to use for busy days. Ie this morning was running late and had to help get 2 kids ready for school while getting myself ready to be at work for 9 - saved me worrying about breakfast. Good nutritional profile too. I usually add a scoop of flavoured whey with it.

Member 5548, 415 posts SQ 270, BP 157.5, DL 310737.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Been using this for two supplementary meals between the breakfast lunch and dinner and it's good stuff, tastes good too and I have been managing to knock back 3500 calories of clean food daily now rather than relying on s**t to make cals. Pretty decent.

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14379 posts | What niche is this product aimed at? Just curious as at £45 a week it doesn't seem particularly cheap, and outside of a bit of weekend prep getting my days food doesn't take much more than 10 minutes to get ready, usually done the night before. I can't imagine it taking less time in fairness. It looks complete enough on paper, but what is the incentive to replace actual food? Time, cost or something else?

I may not be answering this question directly, but over on muscle talk, there is a Q&A thread about it which may help you out. http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/Ask-me-Questions-about-Huel-m53633... To answer in my own opinion you though, meal replacement shakes have been around for years and are still popular to this day. When I look at my weekly spend on food, it's quite high, and meal prepping is not always an option for me. I sometimes due to work need quick snacks or options... That usually means me hitting a fast food establishment or something else. So for me, having some Huel with me would mean a cleaner and far better option. I can easily spend over £45 a week on junk food alone.

A few years back I had to re-evaluate this and it amazed me how much I brought down my weekly spend along with the amount of s**t that I ate. Can't you just carry an emergency meal for just in case? A tin of tuna/ mackeral, a bag of nuts and a bit of fruit is both clean and plenty to keep you going, and easy enough to carry round or leave at work depending on your circumstances. Plus, it's a couple of quid. I think if you have an understanding that eating well doesn't have to be expensive then Huel isn't for you (or me).

Member 899, 11370 posts SQ 180, BP 132.5, DL 190502.5 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | I think that huel really actually is a collection of natural ingredients processed to mix well with water. I believe the idea of the product is similar to a carton of milk. If you buy a carton of milk, you dont have to go to the cow, collect the milk, process the milk and package it for storage purposes. You just drink from the carton, much like with Huel, it's just there, ready and extremely healthy.
