Looks like Rogue barbell company are going to put on a strongman show from 29 - 31 October 2021. It must be the best time to be a pro strongman in terms of opportunity for prize money. It'll be interesting to see if they come up with a few new events as a equipment manufacturer.

"The first annual Strongman competition will be making its debut at this year’s Invitational, as 10 of the world’s top Strongman competitors will take on a unique slate of challenges, devised and created by the same team behind the infamous Wheel of Pain and the Elephant Deadlift Bar amongst many others.

For even more feats of strength, our Rogue Record Breaker competitions will be back throughout the weekend, showcasing amazing accomplishments across multiple strength disciplines. Previous RRB events include the Monster Bell Press, the Elephant Bar Deadlift, and the legendary Steinborn Squat.

Other facets of the Iron Game, including Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting, are also under consideration for inclusion in 2021, with more updates to come as they develop."

I’d be very surprised if Mike Jenkins competes.

Oh god, I didn’t even think about that.

Was merely a joke about how shaw has fallen so far, rather than anything sick, I promise.

How much do you think they'd have to pay Thor for a come back? His retirement seemed mostly aimed at not working with WSM. Career opportunities may be limited for a 150kg glass jaw (depending how the fight goes obviously).

He did an Barbend interview and seems pretty stoked about the Rogue show: https://barbend.com/martins-licis-strongman-podcast/
"I’m not going to compete World’s because it’s too soon. That’ll be in June. I won’t be able to prepare for it. My plan is to return to World’s next year, but this year I’m putting all my focus in on the Arnold Classic and the Rogue Invitational.

The Rogue Invitational I’m very excited about…I think Rogue could really make the sport grow. I have a lot of hope for them. They tend to do things right. I love the owners. I love what their [inaudible 14:06] is, what they stand for. I’m going to be…I would love to be the first winner of the Rogue Invitational."

I'm kind of hoping, as an equipment maker, they use it to show their wear and come up with a load of new events for it. It would be good to have a show that doesn't look like an odd shaped powerlifting meetHappyArnolds kind of has heavy covered. Giants has Deadlift Championship and maybe Axel press WR. WUS is moving towards fast rep events. Is there a gap for a show with new equipment competitors can't prepare for?

New equipment is a good shout.
Even just better quality equipment for a lot of things would be cool.
